      • Different topic, I stumbled over 'Confessions' again, and does anyone else believe that it should've at least received a nomination for Album of the Year at the Grammys? It was not only a successful comeback after 'American Life', it was extremely innovative as nothing else sounded like 'Confessions' at the time. Critics liked it as well (Metacritic: 80/100), and 17 years later, it's still praised as one of the highlights in Madonna's discography.

Albums that were nominated for AOTY in 2007:
        - Dixie Chicks - Taking the Long Way
        - Gnars Barkley - St Elsewhere
        - John Mayer - Continuum
        - Justin Timberlake - Futuresex/Lovesound
        - Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Arcadium

I feel like Madonna could've easily replaced John Mayer or Gnarls Barkley. I don't see their album being mentioned these days, and back then, it's not like they had major impact either.
While the Dixie Chicks had been known for being very talented up to that point in their career, I'm not sure whether 'Taking the Long Way' was that much of a beloved album or whether it only received the award as redemption for the backlash they experienced following their politicial statements (But then again, the same could be said about Madonna at that time.).

                      • Oh Father is such a beautiful song, but I found it hard to listen to when I first heard it. It was like she had written a song about me and my father. It came too close and gave me goosebumps everytime. I was afraid someone would walk in and hear me listen to the song and would read my mind. It took me months before I was more comfortable listening to the song.

Blessed to say I've seen Mariah live 8x, Madonna live 8x, Céline Dion live 8x and many others once or a few times.

She complained that she wasn't making any money out of Madame X theater tour. Lol
The material girl hates theater now.
she has to meet the end for her big family and crew.

Argentina is still in a hole and Coldplay still managed to sell out 10 stadium shows over there

maybe they all had an onlyfans account?

It’s my fave album by her
the fact they mixed it together into one mega track was a brilliant move. It breaks my heart that they used the unmixed versions for the vinyl. First of all it doesn’t sound right… I know the songs so well and it’s just a missing piece in the art.
isnt that mixed bit what made disco records in the 70s so special? MacArthur Suite on side D of Live & More by Donna Summer? Confessions with its disco vibe could‘ve been such a nice continuation of that on vinyl. If it was mixed
love how they mixed Renaissance by Beyoncé together on vinyl for example. Works really well.

speaking of vinyl are there any news on Hard Candy, MDNA and Rebel Heart being re-released on wax anytime soon? Didn’t they announce a complete re-release of her discography basically a few months ago? Seems like all we got are her albums pre 2008 and Erotica on picture vinyl single (at an absolutely ridiculous price may I add)
would love if they also re-released Celebration ok Vinyl! I certainly won’t be paying 800€ for it on eBay hahaha

It definitely should have been especially when you consider it was one of only three albums released in 2005 to sell between 10-12 million worldwide and the other two (50 Cent and Mariah Carey) were both nominated for Album of the Year

You're mixing two things here. At first, the Grammys are US-centered, so worldwide sales are not necessarily a criterion. Second, sales at all are not a criterion regarding whether an album deserves a nomination or not, see this year's winner of Album of the Year.

SHE ARRIVES IN MONTERREY !! ❤️

The Queen of Pop MADONNA would be arriving for the first time to the City of Monterrey in Mexico where she would be performing at the BBVA Stadium as part of her next Tour in 2023.

Let's remember that weeks ago it was announced that several stadiums had been separated in countries such as Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, Etc. And it is expected that this is a starting tour first in Latin American countries.

I’m definitely looking forward to see this new confidant Madonna under the auspices of WB do her thing on tour. (If it comes to fruition). Is her deal with Live Nation finished. Was MX tour the last one?

We don’t know the exact details.

For years there was a rumour that Madonna only agreed to S&S09 if it counted as one of the tours from her (4 tour) deal with them. This would mean MX was the last album but RHT was the last contractual tour… or S&S09 wasn’t a separate tour and MXT was the last.

Either way her contract is over. I’m inclined to believe LN wouldn’t approve a theatre tour when Madonna could have done an arena tour and made them significantly more money, so I think MXT was its own project.
I have a bad feeling about this.

Yes. They always snubbed madonna and were reluctant to give her proper recognition and big awards even at her peaks. They've been like that forever but give tons of awards to other artists or rappers whose works were not quite stellar or agreeable to receive those. Quite irritating
