But he calls.for BBC to boycott. Doesn't call for EBU to not hold the contest there, doesn't plead with rest of the performers there. He picks targets that he knows he can put in an awkward spot based on their popularity/brand name. He's acting like one of those sleazy politicians that goes for easy points in public.

And if he's all about human rights he might as well never play in any country at all as there are examples of basic human rights being negated everywhere. Sure, Palestine is a huge problem, but he is being very picky and choosy.

But why didn't he call them out as they were winning their national selections and called each by name? Bcs nobody would care as they're not as known as Madonna. I'm annoyed by people like this. Either call out everybody or don't go for easy targets.

And I never understood what performing in Israel has to do with your political views. Does that mean everybody who performs in the US is a Trump supporter? Does that mean he held 72 Trump rallies on his previous tour?

Well if her show gives support to Israeli claims on Palestine (including east Jerusalem) in any way she will be on the wrong side of history. And Eurovision in Israel is a great opportunity to remind the world of the genocide there so I dont see anything wrong with what Rogers wrote. In fact I applaud him for having the courage to take a stand about something quite controversial in the west

as for her performance, I don't think that she will take a political side. At the most she will do what she has done before on that matter and on her tours... I'm sure you've watched it many times!

I think that calling on boycott is stupid. For several reasons, but let's not go there now. I only find a bit problematic that everyone, including Madonna, have double standards when they're boycotting countries. I won't perform in Russia because of LGBTQ rights, but I will in the Middle East where it's even worse. I won't perform in Israel because of mistreatment of Palestinians, but I will perform in the USA, UK, France, Russia, China despite of their mistreatment of many nations. If we're honest, we will admit that they are all hypocrites. Even artists that we like.

Did Madonna ever refuse to play based on current politic situation though? From that point she hasn't discriminated against her fans in any country I think. And she has made her views more than clear since forever. She was pro-women and pro-LGBT decades before that was a fashion.

If Madonna came out with a pro-Palestinian statement today (as in two states living side by side solution and east Jerusalem being the capital of the Palestinian state), I would applaud her and my love for her would grow 10-fold. I wouldn't be calling her a hypocrite.
