Her tour productions costs a lot of money. She has to charge for it. If you've never been, i can see why you don't understand. Once you attend one of her shows, you'll totally get it.
We had a brilliant week, didn't we?Madonna, The Holy Queen of Music!

So even though S&S09 was a stadium show, she actually played two arena dates in London instead of doing Wembley Stadium again (Madonna actually did three dates - one of them was a private corporate event).
Even on Confessions, when she did eight shows at Wembley arena, she only played to 86,000 people - not enough to fill Wembley twice.
That said, the London rollout was pretty great for this tour. Perfectly planned and a surprising amount of people wanting tickets. It’s worth remembering to ignore the naysayers I guess - people were so convinced Eurovision had ruined her foreverI have a bad feeling about this.

Mathematically, 2 Staples (now Crypto) arena shows, in Los Angeles, brought her $6 million (29,015 people for both shows) on MDNA Tour, whereas Dodger Stadium did $5.8 million on S&S (43,919 people).
If we hypothetically say that these Crypto arena shows will bring roughly $3 million, or even $2.5 million, that's somewhere between $10 and $12 million, which is definitely money she wouldn't get from a stadium show. Not anymore at least. I think the tactic is pretty good.
Also, on MDNA, her one Yankee stadium brought $6.3 million while Madison Square did $2.4 million (and she has 4 of those coming, so def. $9-10 million in the bag).
I have a feeling has she marketed this as a stadium shows people would buy tickets slower and it wouldn't create the adequate media frenzy she needs to boost the sales.
