Her biopic should be done as the way the queen wants it to be. It's about her life. No fabrication nor gimmicks needed. A male director from Hollywood is too patriarchy to tell her story by the male point of view. I'm sure she doesn't want it. Thats so something she wants to avoid.

I respectfully disagree. A good director is a good director, male or female. Studio can always hire a female director if that’s what Madonna wants. I don’t think she should be the director given that she’s not good at directing. Sorry but not sorry. Let’s use Ang Lee as an example. He’s an exceptionally talented director who happens to be also straight. If Hollywood has that kind of mentality like Madonna, they wouldn’t have hired him to direct Brokeback Mountain, which is one of the best, if not the best gay movie of all time. Please also don’t forget that he did win an Oscar for best director for that movie.

The movie has not been paused because Madonna is a bad director. It didn’t even get that far. The issue is Madonna and Universal couldn’t agree on a script. Madonna wants to write her own life story and tell it herself. If Universal don’t like her vision, it’s not the right studio.
