Why Madonna finally getting in the studio with super-producer Max Martin is such a big deal

The album where she started following the trend instead of starting a new one.
And apart from MA , I just can’t find those “great” songs….. it all sounds so average and predictable.
The idea that Madonna started musical trends is nothing more than an urban myth. Which album actually did that? Madonna capitalised on music trends and introduced producers to the masses, but that’s very different to starting a trend.
Madonna‘s strength has never been starting a music trend, but knowing how to mould one to her own vision. Most of her producers were in her orbit for years before being invited to write together - Shep, Orbit, Stuart and Oakenfold etc.I have a bad feeling about this.

I get what u said.
Of course ( to make an example) with Confession, she didn’t invent dance music, but she embraced a wave that was far from being the HOT topic in that particular period, but she embraced it the same regardless and put her touch, and had the power to reinvigorate and make that same genre possibly hotter to the masses eyes.
What happened instead with HC was a disgraceful attempt to get the American crowds by her side, but the worst part of it is that she did it with subpar and predictable material….. again u hear that stuff and the first thing u think is: M failed where N. Furtado succeded, and I m not only talking chart wise ….

2. “Ray of Light”
Madonna discovered techno just as she turned 40 and took up Kabbalah, and listening to “Ray of Light,” it’s easy to imagine her finding in rave culture not just a new image, but a way of expressing her spiritual awakening. The beat is restless and Madonna sings breathlessly, yet she exudes contentment: “I feel like I just got home!” Indeed, her emotional warmth is what establishes the song as a standout even in a catalog as replete with classics as hers. Matthew Cole
1. “Frozen”
If “Frozen” is impossible to separate from the gothic chic of Chris Cunningham’s music video, that’s because the song itself is a series of conspicuously alluring affectations. Atop a snaky, string-laden electronic landscape that’s transfixing in no small part because of how brazenly it grasps at the exotic, Madonna serves Grimes-at-the-Met-Gala realness. Her vocals are at once naked and withholding, a tango of warring impulses that are obligingly whipped up by the electro-symphonic flourishes of William Orbit’s production. Ed Gonzalez

Apparently I’ve listened to almost 5000 Madonna songs since the year started
Blessed to say I've seen Mariah live 8x, Madonna live 8x, Céline Dion live 8x and many others once or a few times.

P!nk revealed in an interview that Madonna wanted a party of female singers around her at the MTV-awards in 2003: Britney, Christina, P!nk, J-Lo and Gwen Stefani. So Britney and Christina weren't there to replace anyone.Blessed to say I've seen Mariah live 8x, Madonna live 8x, Céline Dion live 8x and many others once or a few times.
