I listened to Confessions album first time today! I really like it, every song is good (although I'm not too keen on Fighting Spirit but it's only a bonus so )
I already knew Hung Up, Get Together, Sorry but now I really like Forbidden Love, Future Lovers & Push
So Ray of Light & Confessions I've listened to & really like both, next I think Erotica... good choice?
Fighting Spirit is one of her best ever....I find that track magical....besides that I instantly get wet as I hear her singining in that low range....hhmmmmmmm
I do think AL is a little too Kaballah-esque, but I do like every track besides the abortion that was the title track. I think the main problem is that when the public wants a female singer-songwriter singing slow and midtempo tracks, Madonna isn't who they turn to. The album is good but it's so unlike everything else in her catalog that is probably the most acquired taste thing she's put out.
You should be 25+ in order to be able to enjoy the American Life album, and you have to probably be 40+ in order to be able to understand the sleaziness of Erotica
LMAO!
I've just never clicked with American Life, though. Apart from H'Wood & Die Another day, i find the rest of the tracks too preachy & she sounds so distant on this record.
I don't think it's as immediate as Bedtime Stories & Confessions, for instance.
Oh, and i'm sure even 12-year olds get down to Erotica! It's perfection.
I have the singles from Hard Candy, they are nice but I think I will leave that album last
Ok I already have Erotica downloaded so I'm just going to listen now
Once you put your hand in the flame
You can never be the same
There's a certain satisfaction
In a little bit of pain
I can see you understand
I can tell that you're the same
If you're afraid, well rise above
I only hurt the ones I love
They better not be I'm getting into Madonna too much
Ok I'm going to get American Life because I just heard "Nobody Knows Me" & I'm dying because it's so good so Erotica can wait

"Now what could be better than a home cooked meal
How you want to eat it depends on how you feel
You can eat all you want and you don't get fat
Now where else can you go for a meal like that"

You can stop right there
Those are her absolute best!

I'd go for Bedtime Stories or American Life but yeah Erotica's fine

I like Wmosi's list. Only a couple of those would make my top 10 as well but it is nice to see a different perspective with songs you don't normally see on the average "faves" list. I too like Future Lovers, it's very hypnotic.
I've never been in love with Take A Bow, but for what it was (pretty much a "safe" song to get America to love her again after the backlash of Sex/Erotica/Letterman) it worked.
Madonna is arguably the most famous person on the planet, so you can imagine the gasps as she walked into NYC's newly re-opened The Double Seven yesterday for the after party for the premiere of "The Skin I Live In" looking better than ever. HollywoodLife.com attended the premiere hosted by The Cinema Society & DeLeón Tequila and we can tell you that you could hear a pin drop when Madonna, 53, made her way through the celebrity packed venue to surprise her long-time friend and world renowned director Pedro Almodovar at his party.
Madonna spent the evening at Pedro’s private table with her boyfriend Brahim, and good girlfriend Debbie Mazar. Also at the table was actress Lisa Bonet and husband Jason Momoa who flew in from LA specifically for the event and were also coincidentally celebrating their five-year wedding anniversary.
We can tell you Madonna was beaming! She was laughing and hugging her friends as they came up to greet her at the table. But the best part of the night was seeing how happy she was with her boyfriend Brahim. They looked deep in conversation at several points and Madonna couldn’t have looked more enthralled.
Madonna didn’t make it to the actual screening, but we’re assuming she did something with her daughter Lourdes, who celebrated her 15th birthday that day!
Between the film’s star Antonio Banderas and designers Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Calvin Klein, Nicole Miller and celebrities Rufus Wainwright, Lisa Bonet, and Debbie Harry — it was by far the the most exclusive A-list party this city has seen in months!
That is the most interesting Madonna top10 I've ever seen I cannot believe Erotica made your top10, it must be because it's during the night and you're in a sexual mood lol
It's cool though!
Thanks! I love the dated 90s Dance sound, and her talk-singing reminds me of Janet's Throb.Erotica is so underrated, as a whole. Deeper & Deeper is flawless too.
@Denise There are no weak tracks on Confessions (even I Love New York is amazing, despite the dodgy lyrics)!! Take a Bow is great, can't believe you don't like it.She sounds so fragile & emotional. One of the best tracks BabyFace has produced.
It's true: I know "Take A Bow" it's amogst fans and no-fans Madge favourite track....but honestly I just can't stand it: as an educate-good lamb-stan I tried to make me like it, but dear lord: I just CAN'T: after just one minute of listening my eyes just close up from the sleep: that song is a real masterpiece of boring :-?
