That makes me want to utter a two-word rebuttal, but it's no longer allowed on here!

LOL, just saw your post. Yeah i guess it's more difficult when you are a fan of an artist who gives long breaks between albums.
Yea. Try being a Bowie fan. It has been seven years since he last toured and eight since his last album. A lot of people speculate he is retired. I've been a fan since the mid-90's but throughout all those years he put new music out every 2-2 1/2 years at least but since "Reality" in fall 2003 he hasn't released anything except special editions of his older albums and live DVD's.

I want some confirmation or denial on tour news and they should reveal the release date of the new album if she releases at all.

She's not me, Heartbeat and Dance2night definitely remind me of Madonna's first album.
Not necessarily the beat but her voice does.
    Justin said it too.

I think HC as a whole is better than Confessions.

Yeah I remember everybody was saying that, I never got it to be honest. "Dance 2Night" and a bit "She's Not Me" sound early '80s but Madonna never recorded anything similar to those at the time, only "Beat Goes On" sounds (in the slightest way possible) close to what Madonna did in the beginning of her career. I really never understood it although it did make me put even more effort to like it when I first bought it and even feel guilty that I didn't really enjoy it.It's probably Madonna's first album ever that I really cannot listen to it beginning to end without skipping tracks, in particular the sequence of those 3 last songs is pure disaster.

If this came out after American Life, it would've been smash. Timbaland was the hottest producer at the time and everythig he did was selling enormously.
Nop it wouldn't. Assuming the promotion would be similar, the results would have been worse. "Four Minutes" was the only single sounding typical Timbaland anyway and that was a smash but didn't help the album much (its sales were OK but nothing to be excited about). "Bedtime Stories" (a much better album btw) was released when Dallas Austin and Babyface were superhot but on the back of "Erotica" and it did manage to increase her sales in comparison to that so mission accomplished in a way but still with 7-8m. copies sold it was nothing extraordinary for its time and it did not re-establish her as a major force in music. With "Hard Candy" in 2005 it would have been much worse

saying that is just wrong...just because you came back from a successful album doesn't mean your new album is going to sell a lot...

Black Eyed Peas are the most recent exemple
It doesn't guarantee you a successful album but it does guarantee you more sales than what you would have if you release it on the back of a flop album.

And remember here we are not talking about a good album released in a bad time ("Confessions" for example would have been much more successful released in 2009/2010 in relative terms) but an average album at best. That doesn't change no matter when it's released

It's been shot down by her publicist.

People who hate Madonna would have so much ammo if this was true.

I love Hardy Candy more than Confessions but both are good.

Candy Shop:OK for an opening song, kind of puts you in the mood... 7/10
Four Minutes:Justin feat. Madonna. The fact that this song has Madonna's longest chart run in the UK ever, shows how bad the charts have become. Madonna sounds like she phoned in her vocals 3/10
Give It To Me:OK not as bad as "Four Minutes" and I guess everyone was excited that Madonna did a dance song for this album but it is still weak 5/10
Heartbeat:I liked this one a lot in the beginning but now I find myself skipping it on the tour dvd (I never listen to the album anymore lol) 2/10
Miles Away:The album's saving grace (and talking about the charts, Madonna's worst chart run ever). Her vocals do sound somewhat lazy though 9/10
She's Not Me:Good song but unfortunately it has been done countless times before 6/10
    Incredible:Same as above 6/10
Beat Goes On:The other saving grace of the album and the fact that this wasn't released is close to criminal. Still it will lose points 'cause the demo is far better 8/10
Dance 2Night: Should have been a single IMO 8/10
Spanish Lesson:Surprisingly one of the strongest performaces on the tour, still though in its studio version it s*cks 0/10
Devil Wouldn't Recognize You:Same as above (although I know many people love this I find it dull) 3/10
Voices: The sequence of the two songs above meant that I rarely ever reached this one lol. And I didn't lose much did I? (although it is somewhat better than DWRY) 4/10

Average grade: 5.1/10 and Madonna's worst album ever lol.

    Confessions was too big
After more than 20 years in the music industry she came back with Confessions and sold 10 million copies worldwide.
If I remember correctly Confessions (or Hung Up?) was number 1 in 40 countries!
    MTV & Grammy performances
Followed by a very successful worldwide tour

With other words after such a brilliant album (era) everybody's expectations for her next project were way too high
And she just didn't care much for HC
    Not a bad album though

But on the other way, it's the holy thruth that this album has been a disappointment on every department, fans in general have been ferociously critics towards it, whatever forum you attend , whomever you talk to, fans or not, they are going to tell you that the album is not that big deal......

I even like the bonus Ring my Bell

What I didn't like about this albums was
    1.Too much Justin
    2.Lack of good videos
3.Madonna's lack of interest in this project.
