Lol I agree.

They might be right for other artists but when it comes to Beyonce they're rarely correct. Not to mention that Bey is a perfectionist and probably changes her mind so many damn times ("Formation" was supposed to debut at Made in America but it didn't, 4 was supposed to be Fela Kuti-inspired, etc.) so it's really hard to predict with her.

There is a new song called "Be Alive" featured on King Richard, biopic of the father of Venus and Serena Williams starring Will Smith, out this November. It just premiered at the Telluride Film Festival.

It's penned and produced by Beyoncé and DIXSON (I'm assuming it's Derek Dixie)

But yeah, she is singing it, too.
Hoping that she’ll also perform it at the ceremony, then. Provided it gets nominated of course. Fingers crossed!

Ugh, I just realised that due to the movie’s postponement, Billie Eilish’s Bond Song will be competing at the next Oscars - the academy seems to have a bit of a fetish for those.

I don’t know, the title sounds like an inspirational song to me. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Inspirational or not, Spirit just wasn’t that good of a song.

Yes, I worded it weirdly lol Sorry. I just wrote it like that to put the focus on the writing aspect. Imo it´s quite interesting it´s basically her and Dixie (in case Dixson is him).

There are cons and pros: on one hand, it seems to be quite a crowded year (tons of musicals will be competing this year plus several current big names in music) but, on the other hand, it has potential to be Warner Bros #1 priority in the original song category (even the movie itself seems to be touted as a big crowdpleaser with major raves for Will Smith).

About Billie, it´s still unclear if Bond is indeed coming due to the Delta variant. Last week Paramount pushed back Top Gun: Maverick until May 2022, so some studios, including MGM, are following the BO numbers this month very closely to make a decision it seems. They want to keep the date but they also wanted to do so the last time before the pushback lol
