Bruno hasn't lost a grammy since 2014, and last night proved that Silk Sonic is going to continue that trend. The album is eligible next year, so they'll pose as big of a threat as Adele next year.

You really think she's shaping her career according to the Grammys? Why would she do that? She has a bazillion of them, no one actually cares much for which Grammy is what. It would be insane to me if she actually did that especially after the huge snubs she got.

I do, to an extent. She obviously has a huge respect for the ceremony, and the admiration is mutual considering all the submissions, nominations and wins throughout the years. This past decade she almost exclusively performed there and at the VMAs in terms of award shows.

I'm not saying that her career is dependent on them, but I do think that she wants to get that AOTY award at least once in her career, and she would prefer to avoid definite competition.

After seeing her “Oscar campaign” I can’t imagine her caring that much for an AOTY Grammy either. At least not to the extent that she would shift release schedules for a (perceived) tactical advantage. Submissions mean nothing, it’s not like she has to put any effort into that. Nominations and wins were pretty much automatic, she is a Grammy darling, whether she intends to or not.

I know most people are over the Grammys, and I understand as there's much to criticise about them. But although it's not everything to her, she evidently cares and I'm sure she wants that AOTY win down the line.

It takes next to no effort to make a submission, so I don’t see how her submitting in a truckload of categories (as she’s done since the beginning of her career) equates to “ I am so desperate to win AOTY that I will delay my album to avoid allegedly unbeatable competition”?

Don’t misunderstand, I never said she doesn’t care about Grammys at all. I just doubt that at this stage in her career, being the most Grammy decorated singer of all time, she would adjust her release plans just because of Silk Sonic’s sweep this weekend allegedly endangering her chances of winning in the main category. Besides: If anyone could beat them, it’s her. She’s as much of a Grammy darling as Bruno.

There’s a vinyl manufacturing shortage - I think lead times for manufacturing are around the nine month mark.

Maybe I'm wrong but I remember reading somewhere afterward that she wasn't looking at vinyl colors for her but for another artist.
I can't find it but I remember something along those lines.

On another note, she also said "music is coming" and I doubt that the plan was to wait more than 2-3 months. I guess something changed, so even if the vinyl story is true it might not be relevant anymore.
