Ayu's coming up to the release of her monumental 50th single - "crossroad" (out 22nd September 2010, 49th single) and "L" (out 29th September 2010, 50th single).

What do you think Ayu's plans are after the release of the 50th single? She's broke her recent pattern of releasing 2 singles before the album, so does it mean we'll be getting a new album sooner or just a album next year with a very long tracklist?

All I can say, she's definitely in my top 5 favourite artists, BUT she needs a BREAK! like Utada Hikaru ! This is way too much, she will break down or faint on stage like... seriously, and her material is not as good as before, not that it's bad - But she needs to get some inspiration please!

She's one of the best JPOP artists around and always will be! I have faith in L actually, she must have something really good if she's building up so much hype leading up to the release.

I know everyone didn't like FIVE that much, but I really enjoyed it (besides the photoshoot). I thought Why and Brillante were fantastic, progress is good, and the other two are okay (but ultimately forgettable). With five songs, it's hard to have an really impressing album. So I think that worked against her. I'm sure Memorial Address wasn't that fulfilling when it came out too.

^ I was one of those who was dissapointed in FIVE.

It just lacked something, and I'm not sure what.

I thought "Love songs" was great - despite a couple of less-than-great tracks - and "Rock'n'Roll Circus" was AWESOME.

Brilliante was fantastic So different to Ayu's usual output, I was like WTF when I first heard it but I loved it on the next listen

I can't wait for a new full length album, but I bet we'll have to wait till 2012.

I really need a new album/single!

Ayu has already given us amazing songs throughout the years - she's one of my all-time favourite artists, if not my favourite.

She's so contstant (although FIVE did dissapoint me) so I'm really eager for new music.

I think FIVE was an improvement from the boring Love Songs and the weak RockNRoll Circus... she seriously dissappointed me with those two releases... what was she thinking? specially Love Songs, possibly her worst record... but FIVE was incredible!

On January 16th, Ayumi announced through her official fan club site, “Team Ayu“, that she is divorcing her husband Manuel Schwarz.

Ayu wrote, “I am reporting that I will be filing for divorce on Monday in America,” and explained the reason for divorce. “The reason lies within myself. At the time of our marriage, we decided to live in America, however, because of the Tohoku Earthquake that occurred two months later, a strong feeling sprouted within me that I didn’t want to be apart from Japan. I wasn’t able to imagine a life in America, and as a result, I left my husband by himself for a long period of time.”

The two met back in August of 2010 during a shoot for “Virgin Road“, when Manuel starred in the PV as Ayu’s husband. Then on January 1st of 2011, the couple tied the knot at a small chapel in Las Vegas.

On January 4th, when Ayu landed in Hawaii for work, reporters called out, “Congratulations on your one year anniversary.” With a smile, Ayu replied, “Thank you. I’ve received many messages from my fans.” She also commented, “After my stay in Hawaii for work, I will go to another place in 2 or 3 days.” Sources say that Ayu returned to Los Angeles after this trip to discuss the divorce proceedings with her husband.

This is so sad to hear. Although I'm not so surprised, sadly. I think it was also a case of getting married too quickly and they were far too different, if you ask me.

I only wish happiness for Ayu. I feel like she truly deserves it. This is a real pity.

....still looking forward to a new album though.

It's so sad Ayu is getting divorced But I agree, they got married far too quickly. But I hope she finds happiness soon

Have you guys seen her last.fm shoutbox? The so called "fans" are being so stupid and saying all these terrible things about her :-? I'm actually ashamed to call myself an Ayu fan on last.fm sometimes cos then I'd be lumped in with those people :evil:
