          • Here is unlistenable.

I dont really like this new album either. Some of the songs are ok but vocally she has got very whiney and i really dont need two versions of every song. Just no.

            • I loved Here, it was very hip-hop sounding but it's probably the album I've listened to least
diary & element remain her top two albums for me

                • She really made her second best album 20 years after her best album.

                  • "Here" is an incredible weak album. The only one of hers that I don't come back to listen to in full. "Girl Can't Be Herself" , "Hallelujah" and "In Common" are some of her best songs, though.

My ranking at the moment would be:
                    1. The Element Of Freedom
                    2. Songs In A Minor
                    3. As I Am
                    4. Girl On Fire
                    5. Alicia
                    6. KEYS
                    7. The Diary Of Alicia Keys
                    8. HERE

I love The Diary Of Alicia Keys but never got into it the way I got into her other albums.
"KEYS" is a strong effort but I rarely come back to it at the moment because I don't have a physical copy of it yet.
                    "Alicia" was a great surprise.
"Girl On Fire" is underrated as a whole. "Brand New Me" is her best song.

No. 1 - No. 3 usually changes from time to time.

Classic 1990s hip-hop LPs by Wu-Tang Clan and A Tribe Called Quest will be archived in the Library of Congress, the National Recording Registry announced today. Along with Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and Low End Theory, the new full-length additions to the registry are Alicia Keys’ Songs in A Minor, the Shirelles’ Tonight’s the Night, Terry Riley’s In C, the Ry Cooder–produced Buena Vista Social Club, Bonnie Raitt’s Nick of Time, Duke Ellington’s Ellington at Newport, and Max Roach’s We Insist! Max Roach’s Freedom Now Suite.

Individual songs added include the Four Tops’ “Reach Out (I’ll Be There),” Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” Ricky Martin’s “Livin’ La Vida Loca,” Nat King Cole’s “The Christmas Song,” and Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Robin Williams’ 2010 appearance on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast also made the list. Check out the full rundown through the Library of Congress.

                      • So I'd say I'm a fan of old school Alicia Keys, haven't paid too much attention to her music in recent years, and some of her big hits actually just annoy me (No One I'm definitely looking at you)

But I just saw AK tonight at the London O2 and I all I can say is WOW. I did not expect her to be that amazing live! Maybe the best show I've ever been to. Just insane.

I'm going to start tomorrow and work my way through her whole catalogue. I'm contemplating becoming a die hard fan after tonight

                          • not really feelin' it tbh, i heard it as part of the release radar playlist on Spotify and didn't really think it added anything interesting, but nice of her to have a moment with an orchestra
