Sorry - I had to edit the topic title.
Don't want people to almost get a heart attack because they think Tina has actually died. Enough is enough (Donna Summer, Robin Gibb).

That was funny, although I almost had a heart attack!

I click it so fast that I didn't even notice it wasn't a "news & gossip" topic.

My God, I was literally thinking about how many legends had passed this year, and, in a perverse way of thinking, it led me to think about other famous icons and who could possibly be the next 'victim' (terrible use of words, but that's how it feels lately), and I was thinking of Tina today and the awful occasion of her passing, but then you go and post this!

Tina is, and always will be, a legend. She has done so much for music. It's incredible what only one woman can do. May this lady be with us for many a year.

Its amazing that given just how many hit singles she's had, and just how many people she's influenced - I mean we're talking about Tina Turner here, arguably the most influential and as Star said, inspirational female act in music history - that a bigger deal isn't made of her contributions to music.

I adore Tina. I find it amazing how she found her peak in music, well into her career. And at the grand old age of 40, she began rocking stadiums. Her 2000 show at Wembley Stadium remains one of my favourite live concerts.

She's sold about 55m albums worldwide, over 30m singles & has grossed hundreds of millions of dollars through touring. She's the queen of rock!

Same here! I know just some of her classic hits (and 'Private Dancer' album). Need to check the other albums, specially 80's and 90's ones.

IMO, if you like Private Dancer, you'll like just about everything she recorded after - as she stuck with the formula of rock infused pop for a long time.

Her pre-Private Dancer material though, is something else - listen to that first!

I love 'Private Dancer', but I never really cared about her older stuff. So her previous works are that good?! Must check her full discography, then!

I'm not saying that they are as good as Private Dancer - that's her finest work IMO.

However, what came after isn't too dissimilar to that album, and so I think you'd get more out of her by listening to her pre-Private Dancer albums!

I love Tina! She's such an icon. My personal faves are 'GoldenEye', 'The Best' and 'Private Dancer'.

I also love her duet with Eros Ramazzotti.

Tina is such a legend. I love her too. She also was the first international mega mega mega seller and empress of the German music market.. selling insane numbers.

She def. influenced me and impacted on my life. My mother adores her also.

Proud Mary is an alltime classic and my favourite song of hers - a true timeless evergreen but as many people already said.. it's only one of many in her enormous career.

I hope we have here for some more decades. As Wayne said - the Queen of Rock And Roll!!!

                                      epic love.

I have seen Madonna, MJ, Coldplay, U2, George Michael, Oasis, J Jackson, The Corrs, David Bowie, Queen, Prince and many many more live - but none have come close to TT live and I don't think they ever will.

Seen her 15 times now across Europe.

Agree with NorfolkScot. I've always admired her, but after seeing her in concert it took my fandom to another level. The woman is pure adrenaline onstage. She can put artists half her age to shame.

lol, Aretha was such a bitter bitch over that thing. She was so upset over Beyonce considering Tina a bigger inspiration.

Aretha is great too, but come on... with all the ass-kissing she's received over the years why did it eat her so that Beyonce is a bigger Tina fan. I've always been a bigger Tina fan too.
