In all seriousness though, the whole BLM should have taught the Grammys better.

The Weeknd intentionally submitted to Pop to prove that color shouldn't define genres, and he got penalized for it. Not a single nomination for the best album or song of the year is ridiculous. Especially since Blinding Lights is one of the biggest hits of all time.

The album came a year ago, and her lack of promo was the nail in the coffin. If she tried even half as much as CxH she'll be all over the R&B field at least.

You're right but I feel like she's always been semi-relevant among the R&B crowds. Not 100% sure though.

Anyway, the The Weeknd snubs are completely shocking considering he really, really REALLY WENT ALL OUT with the album campaign throughout the WHOLE YEAR. From the branding, the imagery, the live performances, everything. Still can't believe he really got 0 nominations.

She has completely ignored her album except for one night. She didn’t care at all to promote it or campaigning, so...

Nominations are a mess as usual. Glad Dua got some noms, though I didn't realise they submitted "Don't Start Now" over "Physical". Fingers crossed Dua snatches all the album wins.

and other shocking thing is Beyonce's nominations.

I mean, srsly? Not deserving at all. I was counting on best music video and best music film, but the other noms JUST NO.

Savage sounds much better just as solo song.

Considering that 2020 was such a weak year in terms of new releases, they had to nominate some records and artists I've never heard of in the major categories, but quantity < quality, so I hope the best artists will win ;) .

2020 was such a great year for music, we got so many great albums being released. The only people who didn't drop were Adele and Rihanna !

Hugo I hope that wasn't a Weeknd diss because that album is incredible

But I do agree that Black Parade was a dark horse but deserves all its nominations. The song is great, the context is even better, and the fact that it was created for BLM and released on Juneteenth to support black owned businesses carries a sentimental value which probably carried over to the committee.

She didn't promote at all or campaign for any of her nominations, despite her fan's frustrations, and in all honestly they probably voted for her hoping that she'll appear/perform. Let's not forget that they keep snubbing her when it comes to actually winning awards as well, especially in the General Field.

Not sure what she's salty about? The Weeknd snubbed or Megan getting more nominations from the get-go than she did? I think the latter, but either way no one asked her.

He called the project 'R&B' right from the start and it charted on the US Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Albums Chart, so I get his point here. On the other hand, those nominations never seem exact. 'The 20/20 Experience' got nominated in the pop category as well, same for Ray Charles' 'Genius Loves Company' or Norah Jones' 'Come Away With Me'.

Regarding Nicki Minaj's comment: What has race got to do with it? Bon Iver's record that year scored a 86/100 on Metacritic, her 'Pink Friday' a 68/100. Clearly, Bon Iver is considered the artist with the bigger artistic potential.

With After Hours out of the way, it seems like it's going to be Dua vs Taylor for AOTY, with Folklore being the clear frontrunner. Unless Black Pumas get even more love from the committee. Either way I'm rooting for the following:

ROTY: Savage (Remix)
BNA: Megan

Realistically though, I expect it to be:

SOTY: Cardigan
ROTY: Colors
