I just showed up and sent it off!
Promotional campaign activated!
Britney is such a living legend. Top 10 hits across 4 decades, and the durability that surpasses a Black Diamond.
Britney Spears doesn’t need pity, she deserves respect. And we will be voting for her.
From Baby One More Time, to Hold Me Closer. She proved under intense scrutiny, she perseveres and does not give up. Let’s show that #FreeBritney paid off and validate her career, her legacy, and her life of newfound freedom.
Britney is an ALL-TIME Ultimate artist, and she is going to do better than just Top 3…
I also would like to see a sequel to this - A Co-Ed (all genders) edition so everyone can compete and find out who comes out on top overall.
But let this be a message, Ladies first, and then the Gentlemen, before the all gender edition. Can’t wait to see how well artists like Frank Sinatra do.Last edited by Briturican; Fri March 17, 2023, 03:46.Freedom.

I will refrain from including groups, bands and duo and am anxiously waiting for the Ultimate bands/groups/duo acts countdown.
Thanks for voting

Do you think we should do this first or do both genders simultaneously?
In either case, I think the all genders (someone should do it) should be done last.Freedom.

Ya, I mentioned that the Men should be done next, and then the Overall group.
Do you think we should do this first or do both genders simultaneously?
In either case, I think the all genders (someone should do it) should be done last.Blessed to say I've seen Mariah live 8x, Madonna live 8x, Céline Dion live 8x and many others once or a few times.

Time for a new update as we just hit our 50th voter!
We are getting closer to our goal, but of course I hope we can get way, way more!
There are now about 630 acts in the list. I don't think anyone has yet turned in a list in which they didn't add someone new to the table.
Right now, it's taking 145 points to enter the top 100. Theoretically, that means someone could get in with just three votes, but right now, only one artist near the bottom of the list is close to that, with only four voters. The rest have at least five.
The lowest score for an act with multiple voters is 6 points.

Voted.
My obvious #1 is Taylor Swift. The first song I heard from her was Teardrops on My Guitar from her self-titled debut album, which struck me as incredibly well written, for anyone but even more for someone so young. It introduced me to her songwriting style, with specific, vivid details, which makes me feel like I've lived through the same things that she writes about even when I haven't. In addition to her lyrics I love the melodies and production of almost all of her songs regardless of their genre, from country and country pop to rock to synth pop to folk. The fact that she was the Global Recording Artist of the Year in the 17th year of her career and with her 10th studio album is not why I voted for her as #1, it's just proof that there are others who agree with me. Taylor Swift's early music influenced not only my taste in music but also my entire attitude to music. Before I had been reluctant to hear new (to me) songs, I even found the recommendations on YouTube annoying since there were a lot of songs that I hadn't heard and didn't want to hear. In late 2008 or early 2009 my curiosity of this talented young artist got the better of me and I clicked a recommendation of a Taylor Swift song, and then another and another until I had listened to all that I could find, and I liked them all. Since then I am very open to listening to new music and I've even systematically looked for songs that I may like, e.g. by listening through every album by a certain artist (such as the #2 on my list which I mention below).
Apart from Taylor Swift I think I voted for a lot of artists that no-one else has or will. I voted for several Swedish artists that are unknown outside Sweden. I also listen a lot to Japanese music since I find song lyrics to be fun translation exercises and useful for memorising vocabulary, so there are also a few Japanese artists in my list, including my #2, Aimer. I love her husky voice, which she got after temporarily losing her voice due to overuse at 15. Her songs are very hit-and-miss for me. About half of her songs, including her biggest hit 残響散歌 (Zankyōsanka), are not my cup of tea at all, but the songs by her that I do like, such as After Rain, Believe Be:leave, 蝶々結び (Chōchō-musubi), グレースノート (Grace Note), 花びらたちのマーチ (Hanabira-tachi no march), カタオモイ (Kataomoi), March of Time, 眠りの森 (Nemuri no mori), Noir! Noir!, オアイコ (Oaiko), One, Sun Dance, Tiny Dancers and 夜行列車~nothing to lose~ (Yakō-ressha), as well as her great and unusual voice, are enough for her to be my #2.Last edited by BlueSwede92; Thu March 23, 2023, 13:00."Swift proved that chart success and clarity of artistic vision aren’t mutually exclusive ideas" – Ian Gormely, The Guardian

Every voter needs to remember that Ashlee Simpson (daughter-in-law of the Queen Diana Ross) has a flawless 3 album discography. She quit whilst she was ahead.

...oh and I'm expecting you all to vote for UKMix icons Shardinay and Heather Small.
