Just an update of my list. Also noticed you placed my incorrect #3 AGAIN on the very next song to Confide in Me, Always be my Baby, Cheapthrills! LOL. For the record my #3 was Natalie Imbruglia's Wishing I Was There.

I coded the top 100-51 in blue, 50-11 in green, Top 10-3 in pink and my highest placed vote purple and my #1 in Gold.

Thanks for running cheapthrills. I agree with running the 10's countdown next year to give 2019 a bit of space, could be interesting if ran again after were removed from the decade a bit more but it should allow any carry over songs to surface. Anyways, great Countdown and thanks for the graphics tip!

Deeper and Deeper - sigh. This song means so much to me. Powerful and relatable storytelling with that melody that just builds to that brilliantly interpolated "Vogue" climax? It wasn't difficult placing this at #1. Thanks for highlighting my Madge tribute and that excerpt from the write-up!
Un-Break My Heart - how in heavens did I not vote for this brilliant ballad?
That's the Way Love Goes - this gem has one of the most therapeutic melodies ever!
Nothing Compares 2 U - I never thought about the hours being counted first; keen observation!
That Don't Impress Me Much - I wouldn't have expected to see this as Shania's top song...but I'm impressed!
It's All Coming Back to Me - probably the best thing Céline's done.
Don't Speak - "pain sure can help create some beautiful art" - so true! The heartbreak is palpable here.
Believe - one of my fave gay anthems.
Frozen - I still think this is one of Madge's most overrated songs from what I strongly believe is her most overrated LP.
My Heart Will Go On - a lot of fun is poked at how inescapable this was, but I think people forget that it's actually a precious, tender, beautiful piece of balladry.
Genie in a Bottle - good, but she went on to do much better.
I Will Always Love You - in a decade highlighted by top-quality ballads, this is the best of them all.
Vogue - the FX series, Pose, really highlights the phenomena of this song, particularly in the LGBT+ community.
Torn - an unsuspecting runner-up! I remember not loving it the first time I played it, but it grew on me, and it's an all-time favourite now.
...Baby One More Time - probably still the best pop song of all-time, even if I only placed it at #2!

Brilliant hosting, cheapthrills! The write-ups were epic.

Thanks for voting And yes, every vote counted there. It was a see-saw battle between those two songs in the final 1/4 votes or so. Madonna had a surge of high scoring votes that put her ahead with one person left to go. It was 498 for Torn and 503 for Vogue. And then sg1996 threw ten points to Torn which allowed her to recapture the #2.

Crazy, right? So if I do that countdown next summer, that should be enough time for songs released at the end of the year to see if they have impact. Also thinking that one might have more participation.
