I'm grateful for this. Took me some courage though.

Mariah: When it was almost my turn, tickets were sold out for Rotterdam (1996). Me and the girls in front of me, were so disappointed. Luckily one of my friends (first lamb I met) sold me her brother's ticket and even took me with her to see Mariah in Paris. I wouldn't have dared going to Paris without her.

Whitney: I really wanted to go, but I didn't know anyone who would wanted to come with me. I had never travelled on my own in my "new" country and had never travelled by metro (which I had to take for the last part of my journey). I didn't even know where to buy a ticket. I thought it would be like a bus, where you go in and buy a ticket at the "drivers"... so I ended up without a ticket and being scared I would get caught. Still grateful, I did go anyway on my own, otherwise I might never have seen Whitney and certainly not at her best in those early days.

Celine: I was thrilled she came in May 1995 and I took my cd-booklets with me. When someone had something signed in the middle of the concert, it gave me the courage to also walk right up to the stage to hand her my booklets and I was lucky she signed two of them.

I'll always be sad thinking I was not given the chance to see Whitney.

Fantastic stories behind those concerts! And can I say how sharp your memory is? It's amazing how you remember the details from '88. I saw Mariah in 2003, and I have very little memories left in my brain on that night. Saw Celine just last year, so everything's still fresh.

I agree, Whitney is the only act I won’t ever see live and it makes me sad (from my Top 10).

                      • So there is this concert series to take place in Berlin and Stuttgart this September, called "Listen Up!". A few weeks ago there was a banner which said it features Bebe Rexha, Ciara and Iggy Azalea but no tickets were available. A few days later, nothing could be found about this event anymore.
Now there are tickets available, however it only says "Iggy Azalea amongst others"... well I actually want to see Bebe Rexha live so badly, and I hope she hasn't pulled out. I just bought Golden Circle tickets for this event on September 14.

                        • ^ I also want to see Bebe live... I missed her and her last tour (and that was some years ago when I wasn‘t a big fan yet)... I hope she does a World Tour soon.

                                  • I am going to see Little Mix twice this September as they added a second date in Stuttgart due to huge demand. For the first night, I have a seat, for the second night I bought a standing ticket. So excited to see the girls from both perspectives!
