  • First album/single you bought?

Does exactly what it says on the tin.

I actually bought a single first before I bought an album which was Celine Dion - The Reason which then led me to buy the album Celine Dion - Let's Talk About Love.

But closely after that my second single I bought was All Saints - Never Ever.

    Now, what are y'all firsts?

First record I bought for me aged 7 was
Bart Simpson - Do The Bartman

First CD single I bought for myself with my own money
        Babylon Zoo - Spaceman

Frist Album: Spice Girls - Spice

and I've still got all of them all. Altho rather used & battered. I would'nt listen to Bartman or Spice with a gun held at my head now though. Still like Spaceman but for different reasons now than then.

Guess what Zannii....I bought that too.

I can't remember my first, it's between these:

I like how I still like those songs though, especially B-52's who have become one my favourite artists & I like how even as a young person I knew I'd like them in future. I think it was No Limit because I was in primary school and thought it was the most amazing thing ever to own a cassette.

No no, no no no no, no no no no, no no there's no limit!

The first single I bought was Sash and Tina Cousins- Mysterious Times, and the first album was Steps- Step One.

I still remember like it was yesterday!

The first album I ever bought:

I think the first single I ever bought was Will Smith's "Men In Black".
"I want a man who's kind and understanding. Is that too much to ask of a millionaire?"

hmm... first foreign album that was given me as a present was

(on cassette, and with WAY different cover)

first foreign album that I bought myself was...

(again, on tape, but with this cover)

and first cassette that I bought when I was, I think, 9 or 10... was by these Russian guys:

they were sort of Russian analogue of NKOTB and later East 17
                            for some reason... I'm here

And here all of mine are, looking very old and battered now. Broken cases and the Spice original sleeve insert got lost at some point.

Seeing those broken cases makes me feel annoyed - I'm a bit obsessive about all of my CDs having new condition CD cases!

You know me here now looking at them and reminiscing. The days of going up town on a Saturday and the joy at looking at the top40 hit singles on display in virgin, hmv or woolworths you picking them up and looking at the different mixes and tracks. Then buying them coming back home playing them all and added them into to your collection. That's was such a great time and buzz unlike anything else. Sitting at a PC logging to a site and downloading them virtually onto a piece of kit. That's cold and just wrong. It's not sexy and as thrilling as what I just said. Aaaah great days.

I can remember going into WH Smith seeing this Spaceman CD on the shelf as the current Number 1. Picking up this copy from the back paying for it and taking it home as clearly as if it was yesyerday. :( Why can't things stay like they are forever

                                              Haha same here.

I almost cried once when my little sister accidently cracked my "Best Of En Vogue" CD case, and again when I accidently crushed the case for my Shola Ama CD. Needless to say both cases have since been replaced with spanking new ones.

I even refuse to buy CDs if the cases aren't in perfect condition.
