          • Gutted to lose If She Knew What She Wants - this is such a predictable top 4 (well 3 of the songs anyway).

I would like to petition that we ban the people who voted it out last round.

Although the version of Manic Monday Susanna Hoff and Coldplay’s Chris Martin performed this past year at the Prince tribute was incredible.

                        • SEMI-FINAL RESULTS

Thanks, navi, for breaking what looked like a tie for first place. I thought we might need to do an extra round. In the end, Hazy Shade of Winter just misses the final.

Seems everyone but me chose to focus their energy on getting out Walk Like An Egyptian through most of the votes, that it had a couple additional supporters at the end - not enough to prevent its 4th place finish. It was their first #1 song in the US. They became the first all-female (and to this day, only) band to top the chart as a result. The Bangles don't have fond memories of recording the song. Debbie Peterson, the original lead, was thrown off the song completely, after they all had to "audition" for parts in the producer.
She's seen whistling in the video, but she didn't do that part either. I still think it's a gem of a song

                          • FINAL

Hazy Shade of Winter was a song for the soundtrack to a movie called Less Than Zero. The Bangles had been asked to provide a track and were short on time due to touring. They resurrected this Simon and Garfunkel cover form their early days, dating back to when they were the Bangs, and tweaked it a bit. Of all their big hits, they felt this was the closest to sounding like them.

And so that brings us to the final - a predictable one - these two songs have been far ahead for most of the competition, though I did think at points the other songs in the top five might squeak through.

In any case, a final vote, and thank you so much to those who participated. The Bangles are one of my favorite 80s acts, and it's been nice to catch up on their discography.

                            VOTE FOR THE WINNER!

                                  • I do love both songs, I shan’t lie - but very predictable top 2.

Still, I definitely discovered a couple of gems as part of this.

My vote goes to Manic Monday.

Although I would like to share this version of Manic Monday which was truly unexpectedly incredible. Bangles remain historic and made their mark in history.
