[Survivor] Alisha's Attic Survivor - RESULT

It's straight out of one survivor and into another! However, this one is for a far less internationally famous act.

Alisha's Attic consisted of Karen and Shelly Poole - the two daughters of 60s singer Brian Poole (of the Tremeloes fame). They had three albums, comprising 40 tracks in all, and a decade ago, their dozen or so hit singles were put together in a tiny survivor. So, this time around, it's time to consider all 40 tracks. I know there's a number of fans on here (Thriller, I'm particularly tagging you, and also SholasBoy) and I'm hoping some others might be up for discovering their music.

So - let's get on with another round - and lose four tracks at this point. Without a doubt, IMHO, their greatest album is their debut. However, it does have a couple of "miss" tracks on it, and therefore, losing "The Golden Rule" at this point is no real loss. Oooh - great to see cheapthrills join myself and Metalweb in this survivor. Things definitely starting to take shape now.

It's the middle album - "Illumina" - which is by far the biggest casualty this round. There's 4 songs from that album featuring, and we lose three of them - "Outta These Clouds", "Shameless" and "Karmically Close". The fourth song we lose is from the third album - "Devil You Call Love".

Well that was a rather more dramatic round than most. A few songs we disagree on, and in the end, a couple of songs leave despite voters ranking them top 4. Six songs progress, and it's two from each album.

So - first song out from "Illumina" is "Do I Lie". First song out from "Alisha Rules The World" is "Just The Way U Like It". Both of those are pretty obvious safe bets to get the boot this round.

Then, we lose a second from "Illumina" as cheapthrills' vote was not enough to save "Lazy Head". For years, I thought they were saying "Sleep like... Shaun the Sheep and..." rather than "Sleep like fish on a sea bed"!

Finally, we lose a second song from "Alisha Rules The World". I love it, it's the opener of the album, but it's a bit of a short one, so I guess that didn't help it. Farewell to "Irresistible You Are"

Anyway - it was a reasonably clear cut result this time around - as four songs were ranked bottom half by all of us, and those are the ones we lose. First up, from "Illumina" - "Me and the Dolphins", then from "The House We Built" we lose "Perfectly Happy". "Are You Jealous?" is also down from "Illumina" and finally "She Ain't Missing You" is a second one out from "The House We Built".

So - here we go, 16 songs have got the boot, leaving us with our top 24.

So, we started off with 13 tracks from the debut album, and we're down to 9. The second album has more dramatically been culled from 15 songs to 8. The third album has gone from 12 songs to 7. In general, IMHO we're down to pretty much the right songs. I think we need to do one more pass through the songs in groups, as there's still people who are pretty unfamiliar with the songs.
