I ran a Bangles Survivor in August and there was a lot of interest in a follow-up with that OTHER 80's girl rock band, the Go-Go's. They had their success first, forming in 1978, and then hitting big in 1981 with their Beauty and the Beat album. It hit #1 becoming the first such all-female act to have a #1 album. They found success with their two albums, but Belinda Carlisle was ready to move on after that. It was a good move for her because she found incredible success as the 80s continued in her own right. She had minor success with her debut album, but then exploded with her Heaven on Earth album. Her success in the US pretty much ended with the 80s, but she continued to churn out top 40 hits in the UK well into the 90s.
The Go-Go's had some occasional reunions in the 90s and even releasing a new album in 2001. Just this year, they reunited again and released a single, the newest song in our survivor. The last 20 years ahve been mostly quiet for Belinda - she released two albums not represented in this survivor - an album of French covers in 2007, and more recent album of pop done via Gurmuhki chants.
The Go-Go's songs include all of their singles. For Belinda's solo work, I only included singles that hit the top 40 in at least one country.
