Sorry for the delay! It did help this round be the biggest with 18 voters though.

Paper Planes showed it would be a contender from the beginning. It wasn't really until the last two or three rounds it started to be in any danger. It was definitely the most polarizing song left with nearly everyone giving it a save or elimination vote in the last round. Still, the song gets the bronze.

I would like to thank the many of you who participated! I really had fun hosting this survivor! I will be starting the Hot 100 of 2020 next and so you might receive a tag for that.

We spanned 40 years of songs in this survivor from 1981 (Genius of Love) to 2021 (Best Friend). In the end, we have an 80s vs 90s battle of two legendary songs. I wonder if the pioneers of rap ever imagined that it would be one of the most dominant genres decades later. It is still going strong as Cardi B just released a new single, which debuted at #2 last week. I hope you all enjoyed catching up on these songs as much as I did.

RUNNER-UP

I would let this go for 48 hours, but our winner is pretty clear with 16 votes in. Salt-N-Pepa are our runner-ups! As one of my favorites of the survivor, it's a nice surprise that this made it all the way to the final round. It was one of the oldest songs in the competition, but that just cements its reputation as a ground-setter. They were one of the first (if not the first) female rap acts to make a dent on the top 40 way back in 1987. They'd go on to be huge in the 1990s, but this is where it started for them.
