LEO: Good song and Aloe delivers a good performance, although sometimes I feel he lacks some depth in his voice. 3.5

WAYNE: Aloe Blacc - I Need A Dollar - brilliant selection, haven't heard this in a long time and it still sounds fresh with a killer vocal/tune. I award the song 5.0 points.

LEO: Interesting choice, although the song itself is not amazing. 4.5

WAYNE: Bing Crosby - Brother Can You Spare A Dime? - inspired choice, with the song's theme based squarely on the US Great Depression of the 1930s. Incredible that this song will be 100 years old in 10ish years. I award the song 5.0 points.

JSPARKSFAN: I certainly had muted expectations for this, but 'twas an exciting, uplifting melody. Loved the spright energy of this. 5
WAYNE: Bleachers - Don't Take The Money - the video irritated me with the song not getting started until over a minute in and that stupid interlude bit where it stops, but enjoyed the song quite a bit. Haven't heard this before and obvious link to the theme. I award the song 4.5 points.

LEO: I feel this is a last minute fast choice just to submit something without much thought. IT's Fergie best song probably. Still a 3

WAYNE: Fergie ft. Ludacris - Glamorous - this reminds me of GTA. love this song, great to listen to when the sun's out and you're driving. Probably her best song as well. I award the song 5.0 points.

LEO: Catchy, but nce it's over I completely forgot how this sounded. Good one anyway. 4.5

Trebor's safe pass avoids an exit, but in a bit of a shock Elimination, a wonky song choice sees cheapthrills out along with Colbie in the Double Elimination. Cheapthrills had quite a few rounds at the top of the round, while Colbie has been hanging in the game for the last couple. Colbie actually selected this song originally before changing, and cheapthrills submitted it after. Thanks for playing with your entries!

JSparksFan also managed to rate Yazoo's Nobody's Diary from last round again with this lot, this time giving it a 5, citing "Great song, though its link to the theme is debatable". . Wayne also revised the score for Delta from 4.5 to 4.0.

Thriller has song of the round with Hall & Oates' 'Rich Girl'. This was later covered/remade by Australian Popstars alum Selwyn in 2002. Here is a live version from the 2002 ARIA Awards also.

The Delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are just around the corner, although preparations are high to try to make it as COVID-safe as possible. Round 8's Theme will be Songs that feature a City/Town name in the title or lyrics.

Lets set the deadline for submission by Sunday 18th July for now.
