I am not trying to seduce you... Would you like me to seduce you? Is that what you're trying to tell me?

So - I made a prediction a few rounds ago that once we lost the "save" votes, we'd lose Lisa Stansfield. In the end, it was a dead heat for fifth place, so we go to a tiebreaker. Over the past many rounds, when we haven't been able to get Lisa out, there've been several rounds where she got more save votes than out votes, thus pushing up her score. However, Joy Division started off from such a high level, and didn't lose that much given their own huge amount of save votes. In the end, on the tie break it was 19.4 to Joy Division and only 14.7 to Lisa Stansfield, and therefore "All Around The World" is out. She's our highest ranking female, a huge name in late 80s/early 90s pop, and has done very well to battle through a huge list of indie bands into the top 5.

If I were ever to get an alarm clock where I could program it to play a song to wake me up each morning - there's only one song I would ever think of putting on it. It's a song absolutely guaranteed to put a big grin on your face it's such a cheery song. That song is "Wake Up Boo!" by Liverpool Britpop band the Boo Radleys. It's testament to the fact this is a songs countdown rather than an acts countdown that this absolutely fantastic song by an act from whom you'd really struggle to name anything else they ever did has made it into the top 5.
