                • Wow - in the end it was so close, it came down to a tie breaker in the final!

However, something has to be in second place, and it's a band who should finally be getting an artist survivor in 2023, as their latest album is finally becoming more accessible (and will hopefully be added to YouTube). It is of course Liverpool band Space - who were supported throughout this survivor by myself and Chantal. I don't actually know if the "Neighbourhood" that Tommy Scott lived in in Liverpool was actually quite as interesting as the one in the song, but this was one of a number of classic songs they had back in the late 90s. I didn't actually save Space every single time I could, particularly when they were looking really safe. However, I would have needed to give them a further 11 save votes for them to win - and it wasn't going to happen realistically.

                  • However big a Space fan I am, there are some things you can't really argue with, and one such thing is that "Bitter Sweet Symphony" by the Verve is an all time classic.

Formed in Wigan, Greater Manchester, the Verve's first two albums, released in 1993 and 1995, were largely ignored. However, that all changed with 1997's "Urban Hymns" - one of the 20 best selling albums ever in the UK. With its blatant Rolling Stones sample, "Bitter Sweet Symphony" became one of the defining songs of Britpop, and I really can't argue with it topping this survivor.

                    Spoiler!

I'd like to agree with you regarding Oasis and the Beatles at least, but unfortunately rules are rules and the North West was an incredibly tough region!

Hun - That explains why I didn't recognise her - the poor girl with the stupid name. What were Kim and Kanye thinking?
