The sophomore effort from one of the most adept genre-surfers in the music industry today, 'Hold the Girl' earned universal critical acclaim and saw the eclectic pop star achieve her highest chart peaks in many major music markets. My second-favourite album of 2022, I gravitated to the album for its broad-stroked storytelling and melodrama-laden melodies. I'm looking forward to seeing how we end up adjudicating the crème de la crème of this LP.
