About time! 'Have Mercy' is a TUNE.
'Treat Me' and 'Surprise' are okay, 'For The Night' is really good.
I hope the next single will be the big hit she deserves.

I honestly think they should have put the album out shortly after Have Mercy. She had some hype back then, but it fizzled out after that. Now it seems they are waiting for a hit that will never happen.
You can’t just put out single after single in hopes of suddenly striking gold.
Not every album is meant to go number one. Let this be a slow burner, but put it out already.

I also think she needs a better quality control. It's good that she's been given lots of creative freedom but SHE NEEDS guidance. The quality of her music does not match her talent.
If I were Bey/someone in her team, I wouldn't not approve "Surprise" and "Treat Me" as singles. I would make "Cry For Me" an international single, push it to Pop radio everywhere and drop the album as the song's about to peak on the charts. I would then pick "For The Night" as the 3rd single WITHOUT Latto but I would ask her to change the verses into something more melodic instead of the rap-singing thing to give it a more Pop appeal.

Is she Libra?
The album trailer would be very confusing otherwise.It's a man's man's man's world. | My last.fm

March is still far away, though… hope it doesn’t end up getting pushed back.
I’m not aware of what was originally planned for the cover, I’m curious now

^^^I dig the released songs (a minority opinion, I see), but I'm always here for new songs. Can always add the released songs for my home made super deluxe edition.
I'm excited for this. March has become a lit release month this year.Last edited by ThaInfo1; Wed January 25, 2023, 20:20.

1. Have Mercy
2. Pray Away
3. Treat Me
4. For The Night (should've been second single but I don't think it was recorded around "Treat Me" release.
5. Surprise.
I think they have no choice now but to put the album out and see how she does there and slowly build her base naturally, at this odd stage. I'm so tired of these girls (see: their record labels) waiting for something to take off before releasing an album. Albums can still become a slow burning success.
***mani could be on album two right now.

I always feel like the “throw buzz single after buzz single at the public and see what sticks” strategy kills hype rather than creating it. It basically shows a lack of faith from the record label and / or a lack of artistic direction. If you showcase your doubt in the artist’s selling power, how do you expect the public to go crazy for them?
The only message you’re sending is: They’re a flop, but we’re still trying to make them happen.
