  • Elton John - The Lockdown Sessions

He’s been teasing what appears to be a new album on his social media today, with collaborators on the project including Years & Years, Rina Sawayama, Brandi Carlile, Glen Campbell, Stevie Wonder, Eddie Vedder, Stevie Nicks, Charlie Puth, Miley Cyrus, Jimmie Allen, PNAU, Dua Lipa, Gorillaz, SG Lewis, Surfaces, Young Thug, Lil Nas X and Nicki Minaj.

Based on Chosen Family, It’s A Sin and Cold Heart which we’ve had this year, this could be great!

if PNAU involved in it (mastering/producing), it may be really fantastic chill-dance record

This feels so random to me, like a fanmade song title.

I love After All with Charlie Puth, the melody is classic Elton.

Finish Line with Stevie Wonder is also really nice, Stevie sounds so good.

I’m not really an Elton fan but I will definitely check this out just because he’s chosen such varied guest artists.
Britney, X-tina, Lana, Janet, Spice Girls, Kylie, Dannii

Why is it when he collabs with younger fresher acts it’s fine but when Madonna does it it’s desperate? A mess.

not on him though. And really looking forward to this.

Maybe cos he’s not slithering all over them in the videos?

Judging by the tracklist, I instantly had to think of Timbaland's 'Shock Value's featuring everyone who was a big name at that time ^^ .

Overall positively surprised by this, but it's a bit too long for me personally. He could've left two tracks out.

I'll have a listen to this over the weekend, but Always Love You popped up on Spotify and I have to say it's pretty awful. Hopefully, it's only one misfire as the rest of the songs I've heard so far have been decent.

Always Love You would be fine without Young Thug or Nicki
