Love the standard cover, wish it was used for the deluxe though. This was probably Warner's doing.

Madonna - Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones

The inclusion of “Me Against The Music” seems quite interesting or intriguing to me because Madonna actually had another #1 song that was left out of this compilation (“Causing A Commotion”).
I mean, ”Me Against The Music” wasn’t even needed or required to fulfill the 50 songs tracklist. She could have perfectly used that space for “Causing A Commotion” making that way Madonna the lead artist on all of the 50 songs included and also having the chance to include songs that came from her very own projects and albums.
Tracklisting wise, this decission seems a bit strange to me considering she prefered to give that “Causing A Commotion” space to a song where she’s the featured act instead (as I checked Britney still retained the “lead artist” credit for the song on this compilation). Weird, Madonna will release this album with one of the songs not even having her as the lead artist.
I doubt this inclusion had to do with Madonna’s liking or fondness for the song though. I personally think it was more of a cute gesture coming from the typical and eternal support Madonna has shown to Britney over the decades. I don’t see another explanation or logic.Last edited by MrLeonix; Thu May 5, 2022, 02:45.Rock lives forever: Led Zeppelin . Metallica . Pink Floyd . Nirvana . Radiohead . Pearl Jam . Oasis . It could be… but at this point I think Madonna really dislikes Causing A Commotion, as it has not been included on any of her previous compilations either and she hasn’t performed it on tour since 1990, if I’m not wrong.
Or maybe it has something to do with legal permissions and she’s not allowed to include it…

I was also expecting some new remixes, but given the quality of the recent Frozen ones, I don't really mind we won't be getting any new onesThe cover art looks fab! Especially the deluxe one, which would be fab to have on vinyl, but the price is a bit too high for me.

I'm also sad "Causing a commotion" is missing. I think most people are overthinking it though. She just wanted to fit "Everybody" in, and since they released the "Who's that girl/Causing a commotion" record for RSD, they probably thought it still got special treatment. Which I don't agree with. I would've actually done the opposite... I would've released an Everybody EP for RSD and left "Causing a commotion" on the album. Giving the standard edition (digital) will be out in June and all the other formats in August, I dont expect a major impact in her sales right? Given she barely gets any impact from streaming in her album chart placements?“B**** come here! B**** come here! B**** come here!”

The advantage of this project really is that Warner only has to spend money on remastering existing remixes, the design, the manufacturing and the promo costs.
It’s a pretty cheap win for them and is the expected tone of the catalogue re-issue project: monetisation of existing material.I have a bad feeling about this.
