I know, right? "Heated" was the one I kept expecting to have this moment but I guess the public says maybe not now.

Isn't that how songs become hits in general though? They get latched on by the public and keep growing as they become mainstream.

That's promo aside, which we obviously don't have this era.

Well, yes, public latches on, so their popularity rises, but most hit songs don’t go from (one of the) least favourite on the album to hit.
They are more like Cuff It - as in “already popular, but not known by the general public” before they take off.

AHAP is definitely an unconventional single choice and I don't know how it'll fare on radio and internationally, but I'm glad there's another song from the album taking off.

It won't be as huge as Cuff It for the reasons you mentioned, but social media trends are the only thing that's been keeping this album afloat.

True. Without TikTok this album would’ve vanished a long time ago.

I’m really curious to see if the tour will be the only promo Bey does for this. If so, it’s gonna be a loooong wait for act ii.

            • I wonder if "AHAP"'s viral success is gonna make Columbia do something or if they're just gonna act like they don't know anything.

I also wonder if we'll ever get a 3rd single because I think her labelmates Adele & Harry also didn't get ones with their recent albums if I remember correctly? Not sure if there's some sort of connection though.

              Edit: Never mind, they did.

She skipped performing at all the award shows including the Grammys so I don't see her performing anywhere except the tour at this point,

                Ideally we would've had:
                BET - Break My Soul
                VMAs - Alien Superstar
                AMAs - Cuff It/Energy
Grammys - Plastic Off The Sofa/Virgo's Groove

With the singles being Break My Soul, Alien Superstar, Cuff It and then Virgo's Groove.

Remember when she wanted every song from Lemonade to have a filmed performance? Those were the days

                      • AGAP seems to be reaching it peak on being viral and Cuff it spending its final week in the top 10 so What's next?

Hoping for something. A third single

I have a bad feeling about this.

                              • Maybe we will get something before the tour starts. Assuming she's gonna be using some music video footage for backdrops.

Or knowing her a**, she will record new visuals for the tour.

                                • I don't understand why it's taken so long to release the visuals. If Parkwood thinks it's a good strategy to prolong the era, they're completely wrong. It damaged The Gift's chances at exposure when it first came out, and it's damaging Renaissance now.

All these months and all we've had are two singles (one of which they were forced to release because it blew up), a teaser and some remixes.

                                  • Because it takes time to film, edit, produce a whole ass movie.

It's their fourth time doing a "movie", they should've learned how to time things better.

Easily agree that they are ruining this and the the longer they wait to release the less imoactful it maybe

Me neither, but it’s the only excuse I’ll accept. If not, there’s no reason to take this long… I get the whole “let the music speak for itself” approach, but by now the music has had more than enough time for that.

Okay I get you . Yes to the music already spoken and it's time the fans enjoy the visuals

                                                • The only thing that kept the album alive until now is TikTok. They really left it out there. By all means it's amazing what it achieved, but honestly, it's such a crap move towards the fans.
We'll see when the visuals (and documentary?) drop if the total absence was justified.
I know that I'll be super excited but there's still going to be a bitter taste to it.

And regarding the visuals, the long delay is bound to have a massive effect on how it's received.
Black is King felt forgotten very soon after it was dropped and personally I almost didn't replay it, unlike Lemonade and ST.
