Damn, can't believe I just missed this information

Their debut came out on the 10th November 2017, so that's the exact same week just two years later. Love that

I hope we will get a first taste very soon then. The lead track to their debut came out on the 29th August with album announcement being a day earlier, so getting this announcement already now is rather surprising to me.

To be fair, they just announced it a few minutes before I decided to open this thread.
Thus, you didn't really miss it xD

Personally, I also think that it's a surprise that this announcement immediately follows Nightwish's announcement that Jukka leaves the band xD

Haha

Oh, didn't think about that yet. What a coincidence!

Lovely album cover. Didn't like it the first time I saw it earlier today, but it already grew on me. Probably because it fits to the cover of their debut. I still wished to see Anette striking a great pose though. Also liking the song titles, you can already tell it's a Dark Element album which is cool!

btw could you please change the topic title? It's 'Songs The Night Sings'

Anette said she wrote the lyrics for one of the songs - the first time she did lyrics!

Probably she wrote "I Have To Go"

Btw, I changed the thread's title... thanks for pointing it out.. I guess, that's what you get whilst opening a new thread on the phone

Thanks for changing the title

Surprised there's still no lead single to this. I keep checking iTunes and Apple Music every other day I'm so excited to get a first taste from this project!

That's great news! I would love to listen to her debut again (before cheking out the upcoming lead single) but I think that Tarja will keep me busy

The lead single "Songs The Night Sings" has been released this morning!

It's strong! Nothing groundbreaking but catchy Symphonic Metal at its best. They seem to have kept the sound from their debut and that's cool, as it's already clear what the sound of The Dark Element is. Not many artists have found their 'own' sound so quickly.

Can't wait for the video later today!

Excited to hear your thoughts Mainshow

It's here!

Anette looks gorgeous!

But this was shot at the same place like the "My Sweet Mystery" video, wasn't it?
Also, I'm missing the other guys. Definitely a lovely video and exactly what I expected, even though they really need to step up their game when it comes to music videos.

It's a good piece of traditional Symphonic Metal and I agree, it's nothing "ground-breaking" but on the other hand, it's also a great feature that - as a fan - one knows what to expect & one can rely on them sticking to the sound which perfectly fits them.
The song feels just natural and authentic to them.

The intro is epic. I love the bells! - The orchestral and symphonic elements of the song are great as well whilst the song itself is memorable and catchy. The key change in the chorus makes the whole song kinda anthemic and powerful.

The music video is kinda tragic, though.

Glad to read you're enjoying this song!

Haha, I knew you would love the intro with the bells It's probably my favorite part of the whole song and got me hyped so much when I first heard it. The intro gives me major Nightwish-pre-Anette vibes.

I'm already excited for the other songs as they said there will be some elements that weren't on their debut. I know you aren't the biggest fan of folk elements, but I would love to get at least one song with folk elements.

Let's be serious: Are we surprised about that? I am not

Though I get it. They probably don't have the biggest budget as their debut was well received by the fans, but not a real success. So I'm just thankful we're already getting another album and they still cared for videos, even though they're not the best ones.

The video to "Songs The Night Sings" just surpassed 500,000 views on YouTube. This is pretty awesome!

They just announced the second single. It's called "The Pallbearer Walks Alone" and will be released next Monday!

The song "The Pallbearer Walks Alone" has already been released as the second single today! Anette said it's her favorite song on the upcoming album and she even wanted to push it as the lead single. It's amazing and I'm definitely looking forward for the official video premier in 8 and a half hours!

Here's the audio:

Lyric video for "The Pallbearer Walks Alone"

(not an official video as I wrote down earlier today. I misread their announcement)

I prefer the lead single and whilst I believe the song itself is great, I somehow think that there's something off with her vocals, no? They do sound a bit overproduced, no?

^ I get what you mean, though I don't have a problem with that.

They already released the next single - the album opener "Not Your Monster". Played it once so far and even though it sounds great, it's also not on the same level as the singles from their first album. Somehow I feel like this album will be a little disappointment (at least compared to their first one).

Official video for "Not Your Monster" premiers later today.

Video for the third single "Not Your Monster" OUT NOW!

Unfortunately... I really love Anette, but their video game is kinda lame. She looks good but they released five official videos so far and they're are basically the same. But I like the colors in this one. In some scenes you can even figure out that it was shot at the exact same place as the "My Sweet Mystery" and "Songs The Night Sings" videos (and it wouldn't surprise me if it was the same for "The Ghost And The Reaper" ).

Having played the song a few times now and I really like it - but it sounds like the little sister of "The Ghost And The Reaper". Which - what a coincidence (or not?) - also got released as a single in the album release week.

I have mixed feelings at the moment. Was really looking forward to this album but so far it looks like it won't be one of the best ones from the year. Anyways, there has to be more to discover so I'm still excited to listen to the full record on Friday! It's good we only know three songs out of 11 so far while we already knew five songs when their debut came out
