How did she become a judge on Idol???

She was very popular on YouTube when she became a judge and it seemed like they want to hire someone who's 'in' with the young people. I was very sceptic about her being a judge (it was already a few years ago btw) but she ended up as very sympathetic and likable.

I never cared for her music that much. I only knew two songs that I listened to once and twice each, but still decided to check out the full album today and I'm actually pleasantly surprised. But then, the same already happened a week ago with Loredana's debut album (never heard a song from her and still checked the album out which turned out to be surprisingly solid).

"Supersize" is the debut album by Shirin David, a former German Idol judge, YouTube personality and so called 'German Nicki Minaj'. The album just came out today but already spawned six singles, with all of them being Top10 hits in Germany. I never cared about her music that much but enjoyed her as a judge on German Idol, so I decided to give "Supersize" a spin and it's surprisingly enjoyable! Very R&B and she sings way more than I expected!

Currently #1 on German iTunes (and #914 on UK iTunes!).

She also delivers great videos IMO. This is my favorite one so far:
