I was flipping through radio stations the other day and Easy On Me was on, so I paused, and I kept hearing a male voice in the song. I was like what is this?? I thought maybe the radio station did some sort of mash-up, but I found it is was a country station and Chris Stapleton is on it to promote for country airplay.
The guy adds NOTHING. GTFO Chris and let me enjoy full, unsullied Adele in peace.
If they were smart, they'd release a new single on 12th November. She has her CBS special that week (14th) and it just feels like a good time for the second single. I think it'd be the wrong decision to wait until the following year like they did with "Hello". Could even bag another #1.
Easy On Me was a very safe choice for a lead single, playing on classic Adele sounds and focusing on the familiar. It has absolutely worked as a re-introduction to Adele. The success speaks for itself albeit largely driven on the hype.
Despite the safeness of the song, I found myself loving it the first few days but I’ve grown terribly bored of it now. Next single please.
