I made a thread for one of his songs last year, he's a talented guy and will represent the UK at this year's ESC.

I like this, it's a bit formulaic but I think it has a really classic Eurovision chorus to it (one of the lines reminds me of Love Shine A Light) - depending on his performance and staging he could give us one of our best placings in years.

Easily their best effort since Lucie Jones, I just hope they stage it correctly...and the theme of the song offers big potential for great staging. The song itself is still very safe and generic, but it's his voice that makes it stand out imo (I guess to some negatively, but I like it)

I might be wrong with this, but considering it's not the strongest year I really don't see it finishing in the Bottom 5...we'll see

Same. I don't get the generic thing at all. It's a stand out for me for this year

He's an effortless live performer, the song is #1 on iTunes by a big margin (for what it's worth these days), he's huge on TikTok which is an international platform... this could be a really clever move finally from the UK.

It's a mediocre song camouflaged by a charismatic performer with a good voice. On the other hand, something more avant-garde might not have suited his vocal tone that well.

And I don't understand why ppl complain about song. It's the best UK song in years!

The song sounds very familiar, it's very radio friendly and sounda like a song from uk top 40.

The difference in viewers shows the disparity in quality between the two songs.

I really like embers as a song. It was just wrong for Eurovision. With a different performer it probably would have done better.

This is a great song and the staging last night elevated it - so pleased for him and the U.K. coming #2.
