I totally agree. Granted that the Lil Nas X's song is a remix that would not have spent that long in the Hot 100 #1 spot if it weren't for the remix version, this one screams so desperate especially since this is her debut single, and she didn't seem to be that kind of artist who would pull tricks to ensure number one. This is something that Tommy Mottola would do in managing his favorite artists.

Oh please no. This doesn't deserve #1 based on that awful remix.

Cheap remix is correct. His vocals are so out of place on this.

He would have been better on xanny.

Stanning or not, why not work on an original song to be released in the future? Like this remix doesn't fit the song at all, even if you fangirl, I would want the output to be something I would be proud of, not some cheap remix no one will remember in two weeks.

Honestly the remix feels like a desperate, last-ditch attempt at trying to score a #1. The original already accomplished that back in April

I think most of y'all didn't know that Billie is a certified Belieber. She stans for him so hard. Let this little girl have her fangirl moment!

Eilish's Belieberdom (sure, that word works) has been well-documented. When speaking with Entertainment Tonight in March, she shared that she's been a fan since she was 12. She also revealed that she and Bieber exchanged some DMs, calling him "so sweet."

"The first thing he sent was a screenshot of a DM I sent him in 2014," she laughed. "He didn't remember it, but you know how when you follow somebody you can see everything they've DMed you in the past? ... It felt good and it felt bad at the same time."

Eilish and Bieber met for the first time earlier this year at Coachella, and wow, what a moment it was. When the pair of pop stars crossed paths in the crowd during Ariana Grande’s set on April 14, longtime Belieber Eilish appeared to double over in disbelief. After they stared at each other for a few seconds, she walked over to the "What Do You Mean?" pop star. The two embraced, and the crowd that had formed around them shrieked in delight.

And what do you know? It's only been three months since that interaction happened, and Bieber is on a remix of one of Eilish’s singles. Awwww. I'm going to have a gooooood cryyyyyyy. Duh.

people shouldn't compromise their art this much for a number 1 position

LOL i have to admit i actually cringed at Justin Bieber's vocals on this. It's like two scoops of ice cream and then pouring cold gravy over the top. A total mismatch.

This remix doesn't do it for me at all. I really hope this was just because Billie loves him so much.

Remixes should add something to a song, while in this case, I feel like the remix doesn't upgrade the song in any way, making it seem kind of pointless. Billie Eilish's and Justin Bieber's voices don't really sound well together and the fact that Bieber is actually singing, while Eilish is doing her usual talk-singing, makes it sound kind of messy. Lyrically, Bieber is playing the antagonist, but I feel like it would've made more sense contentwise for Bieber to start the song because... Wasn't the point of the song to show that the female protagonist wants to make her boyfriend believe that he wears the pants in the relationship while, in fact, she does? If she's really such a Bieber fan, it must feel like an honor to her to collaborate with her idol... Besides, I rather stick with the original version in the future.
