'Because They're Young' is my favourite Duane Eddy Song. It
is the Theme to the Film, of the same name. 'Apache', was not
originally by The Shadows. It was first recorded by Bert Weedon,
who had a No.1 UK Album, in 1976 - '22 Golden Guitar Greats'
Jerry Lordan, who wrote 'Apache', did not like Bert's version He
did like The Shadows Cover of it. It became their Best Selling UK
Single, and was No.1 for 5 Weeks. Their 'Wonderful Land', which
I like even more, was No.1 for 8 Weeks, to 5 Weeks for 'Apache',
but the 1960 Hit sold more UK copies. The Bert Weedon original,
reached No.24, in the UK.The Shadows had a Global Hit, with it.
However, the USA and Canada, had no interest, in their version.
Instead, Danish Jazz Guitarist, Jørgen Ingmann, did his own cover
of 'Apache'. That cover, went to No.2, in the USA and Canada, in 1961.
Johnny Burnette had a No.5 UK and No.11 USA Hit, with 'Dreamin', in
1960. Johnny's biggest Hit was 'You're Sixteen', which was a No.3, (UK),
No.8, (USA), Hit, between 1960 &1961. Ringo Starr covered it, in 1973.
His version, reached No.4, (UK), No.1, (USA), in 1974. Johnny did not
live for very long. In August 1964, his Fishing Boat, was crashed into by
a Cabin Cruiser, on Clear Lake California. Johnny drowned. He was just
30 Years Old...

'It's Now or Never' by Elvis Presley, is based on 2 Songs. The 1st is 'O Sole Mio', ('My Sunshine'), which is
a 1898 Italian Song. The 2nd is, 'There's No Tomorrow' by Tony Martin, which was a US No.2 Hit, in 1949.
Bobby Rydell's 'Volare',('To Fly'), is the English Language adaption of 'Nel Blu Dipindo Di Blu', ('In The Blue
Painted Blue'). That is by Domenico Modugno. It finished 3rd, (Italy), in the 1958 Eurovision Song Contest.
Despite only finishing 3rd, It went on to be a Global Hit. It even became the USA's Best Selling Single, of
1958, with 5 Weeks at No.1. Despite the Contest being unknown there. 'Volare', ('To Fly') was a UK No.2 Hit,
for Dean Martin, in 1958. Many Artists covered it, in 1958. The 1960 Bobby Rydell cover, was a US No.4 Hit.
I think that Bobby has one of the strongest 'Teen Idol' voices. He was much bigger in the USA, than he was in
