Agreed, One of the most perfect songs of all-time.
Agreed as well. Unfortunately nothing else she recorded ever came near this, the closest she got IMO was "Holding Out For A Hero", but most of her other stuff did nothing for me.

I don't think anybody can go wrong with a Jim Steinman song.

Plus everything from the singing to the props were just great. I don't care how 80's it looks...

Yeah, she had a few good ones, Hero being the best , but it was all overshadowed by this one

I first started following the Billboard charts in August 1983 and this was a big hit on my personal chart so it will always be a favorite of mine.

Total Eclipse of the Heart was one of two Jim Steinman songs originally intended for Meat Loaf's third album Midnight at the Lost and Found. After financial wrangles, neither was included. The other song was Making Love Out Of Nothing At All, which was given to Air Supply and made Number Two on the American Billboard charts when Bonnie Tyler's Total Eclipse of the Heart was at Number One.

Bonnie later recorded Making Love Out Of Nothing At All herself and had a minor UK hit with it.
