  • Robert Miles - One & One (feat. Maria Nayler)

This takes me back! Maria Nayler's vocals are outstanding and the track itself is top notch.

    Stand wipers unite!

Sadly, he is not going to back to this genre any more. As many people told him to do another Dreamland, he had refused and told us that he won't do any more dream music in his life.

Oh now you're talking randomness!! I always preferred this to "Children", it's a gorgeous little song. I remember hearing it sold really well in the UK across late '96, like half a million or something?!

I have always loved this song.

I like the fact that this doesn't really sound like "Children" or "Fable". This is just as good as "Children" for me.

For me nothing beats "Fable", but this comes close.

I don’t hear this song very often but when I do I’m always reminded of how great it is.

Yes, because it's a cover. So it deviated from his original style a little bit but we can still find signature elements in this song.

                        Cover?

Maybe cover isn't an accurate word in this case. But late 90s is a crazy time where two artists could record the same song at almost the same time or do cover in a very short period. So I don't even know if it should be called a cover since Robert Miles probably had never heard this song before recording it. But it's first recorded by Polish singer Edyta Górniak.

Ooh. Thanks. Let’s me stream that version.
Similar to the most famous hit from Jamelia Superstar. It was recorded by Christina Milton in 2002, a year before Jamelia. Identical too.
Like Jamelia just decided to cover it.

It does sound good. Different beat but the vocals are great.

I like Edyta's version more - maybe because of the great vocals. She looks gorgeous in the video, too.

I had no idea Superstar was a cover!!!!
                                Haven't been early since '88

I had no idea this was a cover but I knew Superstar was! I already liked the Christine Milton version before Jamelia did hers.

There were so many late 90s and ealry 2000 hits that people didn't realize were covers. Like Natalie Imbruglia's Torn, Karen Ramirez's Looking For Love, Vengaboys's Shalala lala etc.

Actually, I didn't realize that Looking For Love is a cover till recent times, I really should know that because originally it was recorded by EBTG but long time before Karen.

I really don't find One & One a cover, it was just recorded by Edyta (her version is much weaker and has no magic), it wasn't even released or properly promoted before Robert's version.

Still adore this track, shame people don't know Robert's music but 3 first singles, he's recorded 6 albums before he died
