Her sincere vocal delivery kills me every time, e.g. 2:13 when her voice breaks intentionally during the "Father, thanks for reaching" part :(
Also this line makes me a lil emotional, lil emotional:
"Trying to preserve each word
He murmured in my ear
Watch part of my life disappear"
She went through so much in her life.

The One is one of her most relatable songs and deserves justice!

I find Boy (I Need You) to be incredibly overrated.

I just got a physical copy of this album over the weekend. I feel like MonarC Island really wanted to erase the memory of Glitter from the public awareness that's why they had her release Chambracelet the year after. I think if she took more time and had this released sometime mid 2003, she would have had better songs that could have been hit singles.
I'm not surprised that Mariah was disappointed with the roll out for this, but I disagree with her (in her Genius interview) when she said that it was a wrong decision to release "Through the Rain" and have the whole autobiographical theme of the video. I think "Through the Rain" is one of her best videos ever. "Bringin' on the Heartbreak" was also an incredible remake. "Yours" could have been a great single at the time, it was so different from the Ashanti, J.Lo, Kelly Rowland type of collabo songs that dominated the Billboard charts. It was so safe of them to go with releasing "Boy (I Need You)" just to get a hit.
