I'm surprised so many people here didn't like Back To Basics. I thought it was a little long in places, but it was so creative. It was so different from what everyone else was putting out.

I especially liked the second disc, especially Save Me From Myself and The Right Man.

I hope when Christina says "short and sweet", she doesn't mean a 10 track album. I'm sure 10 tracks from her would be great, but I'm against 10-track albums on principle...and because they always tend to get re-released later on, which isn't really fair.

I also like very much the second disc.

And yeah you're right about the 10 track albums. An example is "Back To Black" by Amy Winehouse. It was re-released some months after its initial release.
However, re-releases seem to work really well on charts (and there are examples)

dicussing an ew album from Christina is way too early I think!!

To me, Back To Basics would have been classic if it weren't for: Thank You (nice concept, but a little unlistenable as an individual, 3-4 minute track), Still Dirrty (seems like she was trying too hard to recapture Stripped), and possibly Here to Stay.

          I loved everything else.

            Per MTV (spotted at monicamania):

Christina Aguilera just made her first public appearance this week since giving birth in January, and now comes news that the singer is already digging into her next album. "This whole incredible thing has taken place in my life," the new mom recently told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, so there's "so much in me to write about. The next record, I want to have a lot of fun with it. [I've been] brainstorming for the last nine months. This next album will have a whole new me, a different me, so it's a lot to look forward to."

Lol I guess with every new album there'll be a new Christina Multiple personality disorder maybe?

That's what I luv about her! She takes her time with every record and she doesn't like to repeat herself.

I hope she doesn't go the same direction as Back To Basics, although that did have some amazing tracks on it like Candyman & Slow Down Baby.

I want something like Stripped so we can get tracks like "Fighter" again!!

It just takes too damn long... she only had 3 proper studio albums in a decade so far.

And how is that a bad thing, when they've all been quality albums, where it was obvious that a lot of effort went into them.

hopefully she'll return to her Stripped days and do something with alot of variety and subastance in it.

I think she might try Dance next, shes not done that properlly yet?

She never tried it I think, the closest was Dirrty which got her some plays on dance stations, but its urban really. I think back in 2001 she said she wanted to work with Moby but I guess that got put aside. Who knows. Dance-pop seems to be in atm

BACK TO BASICS should have been better then (regarding the amount of time she had).

She had too long for Back To Basics, and that can be seen by her producing so many decent tracks (in her eyes) she had to narrow the number down onto 2 discs. I think it'd have sold better and got better reviews if she actually narrowed it down to a 1 disc album.

                                  I want pop-rock Stripped style.

I think a Pop/Rock sound on the next album would suit her just fine. She certainly has the chops for it. As long as she continues releasing quality albums, I'm all for whatever musical direction she decides to explore.

If it's anywhere as good as her last album then I will be happy - who knows what she will do next, I expect to be surprised again

Most people wont expect that cause they are thinking Urban! Pop is dead and we need to revive it...
