  • Made In London - Dirty Water

Now you can't spend all of your time,
With dirty water on your mind,
Can't see through unless it's blue,
    The bottom of dirty water,
You're like the devil in disguise,
    Double faced and telling lies,
Can't see through unless it's blue,
    The bottom of dirty water

Anyne remember this song?Such a great debut!I thought they could have been really big but no :(.I listen to this all the time

    Heres the UKMIX review:
The debut single from brand new all girl R&B/pop trio Made In London. Hailing from the UK, Norway and Jamaica, the girls met in London, hence their name. Their varied and contrasting vocal styles complement each other extremely well, which also makes for a great chorus combination. Though I still haven't worked out what the title actually refers to, it's a fantastic song which continually grows on you with each listen. Watch out for the last 20 seconds - pure aural bliss.

p.soes anyone else think parts of this sound like Janet Jacksons "This Time"

I remember seeing this on CD:UK and buying the single as soon as I could. I used to love this, and you're right, it's very similar to This Time.

Oh i remember this and Shut Your Mouth. I kinda liked them, along with Madasun there were some decent acts and slightly edgier pop groups like this around at the time but sadly never lasted due to the more manufactured ones clogging up the charts. I think only the Sugababes made it through
"Free me, FreE.M.I!" - sing it Joss!!

Brilliant songs with really strong vocals, much better than the follow up. I still listen to this from time to time.

I just clicked on the link before reading the above, and thought they've nicked the backing from This Time!!

I completely missed this song the first time around, but I like it... I wonder whatever happened to them?

One of the most underrated songs of 2000, will do well in my decade chart. It was probably ahead of its time, as this came before the invasion of the 'young girls with guitars' era (Avril, Michelle Branch...)

It's a shame they didn't go on to do more really, they had a great image and this song was so powerful (does anyone know what it means though? ).

I think the problem was they were lost in a great mix of girlbands (and boybands) all coming through at the same point, but they were much cooler like All Saints than most of the others, and then there was the issue of the dodgy follow up single.

I thought the video was a bit odd as the girls never seem to appear together, so you didn't get much of a sense of them as a band.

I found out about this song because the Popstars formed Aussie girl group "Bardot" covered it for their sophmore album "Play It Like That". I loved thier version and soooo wanted it as a single but the group split after their 3rd single from the album "Love Will Find A Way".
Picked up the original in a used record store and really like it as well.
Happy endings are just stories that haven't finished yet...

As well as this, doesn't the beat sound the same as 'If U Can't Dance' by the Spice Girls or is it just me???
