  • Father John Misty - I Love You Honeybear

One of 2015's most critically acclaimed albums thus far (88 on Metacritic). The second album from J. Tillman, the former drummer of Fleet Foxes sees him moving out of his safe folk sound and experimenting a bit more. If you listen to AAA/NPR in the US, this album is all over the format as we speak. His first solo album didn't really do much for me, but I was hooked from the first listen of Chateau Lobby #4.

If you're wanting more ballady stuff, "Bored In the USA" is absolutely gorgeous even with the bitingly cynical lyrics.

My friend is obsessed with this, and we got stoned and played the hell out of his music recently. I really like it!

Opened at #12 on the Billboard chart, not bad considering it's sold on good reviews and positive buzz. His last album didn't do anywhere near this.

I love his voice, it's very comforting and the music is delish, yet his lyrics are so sardonic you have to laugh at some of the things that comes out of his mouth.

This is easily one of the best ever albums about love.
I have received many gifts from God,
but this is the first time I have ever received a gift from a goddess
                .
