Amazing review Vindrag! I can relate to how you felt about Trip to Your Heart! That's a hidden gem in the album! A lot love the uptempos but this one is just amazing! I never expected Britney to have a song like that!

2. Trip To Your Heart (78)

11. Drop Dead [Beautiful] (5)
12. Gasoline (4)
(+ I've heard the album about 10 times in my mp3-player!)
I did!!! Album sounds really nice, except from Gasoline - which is horrible. Could do without Beautiful (Drop Dead) and Trouble For Me as well - but except from those two - I think it's a really good pop record!
Big Fat Bass
Hey!! That's great, Vindrag! I can't wait for your song ranking!!!
Did you buy the Deluxe Version? Have you listened to Scary?
Hey pal!! No, I did not buy the deluxe, because apart from He About To Lose Me the bonus tracks doesn't sound that good (I've only previewed them).
Here's my song ranking, although coming a bit too early as I'm still listening (and Enjoying) the album!
1. Hold It Against Me
(Probably because I've heard it ALOT since it's release, but other songs might catch up with this soon. I really like the hard rhythm and the melancholic touch in the chorus. I heard it today on my bicycle, the break down really felt as if the town was full of colours, as in the video. But in this psychedelic way, distorted way. This song is'nt only about clubbing or dancing - not according to my interpretation which deals with a more complex dilemma.)
2. Trip To Your Heart
(I must say this is beautiful. And I just now, in this moment, heard that she says: "Trip to your eyes" - I loved that! This song is very elastic, earthy, flexible and with alot of capacity to awaken my emotions. A brilliant record, still not a single track. Plus, I'm a sucker for some retro-exotic dancing in a rush of melancholy!)
EDIT: This is constantly growing! I'm loving it!! Summer anthem?
EDIT 2: Just realized: is not this the song on the album that suits the best with the album's title?"A femme fatale is a mysterious and seductive woman whose charms ensnare her lovers in bonds of irresistible desire, often leading them into compromising, dangerous, and deadly situations."Trip to your - trip to your.. Everything... Yes. I think I got it! My interpretation is now complete!
3. Big Fat Bass
(3rd song in a row now which I actually experience as quite sorrowful? Is there something about Britney's aura, or is it the fact that she is an nostalgic jewel? "The bass is getting bigger" - she sounds really funny here, almost alternative! LOL! I'm a bass lover, and I experience this song as a dramatic love progress between two individuals as if they were connected in a musical invisible place. Not a single, but it's playful, somehow I imagine it to be alot deeper than the majority of listeners might think. But hey - would'nt it be nice with even more bass in this record?)
4. Till The World Ends
(A strange opening track. It took me a while to appreciate this song, because I'm not a fan of the "ooh-ooh-oooh" part, as it sounds to much as an soccer-anthem - like OMG. But then I realized, Britney would never do anything related to soccer, and after hearing it a couple of times, especially the first time with headphones - I heard the bubbling hidden sounds in the "ooh..." part. Video-game stomping!! I just wish the "ooh.." part would be just a tiny bit higher the last time she sings "See the sunlight/rise..." part - it would sound much more.. massive!)
5. How I Roll or Inside Out???
(The first one is so nice, playful and very fresh + rhythmic! The other one is a cute ballad, with a Chip N Dale chorus. It's better as an album track, as it pops up after two big up-tempos.)
EDIT: She said F**K! Yes, it goes perfect within the context.
6. I Wanna Go
(Great! But I seem to forget I've heard it everytime it's ended. Like: "where did it go?")
7. Criminal
(This song will keep on growing, I know it. It's a bit too instant, and therefore I have not payed it as much attention as the other tracks, but it's still nice and will probably feel better towards the summer. Plus I made my first Britney quote ever in a text-message the other day after buying speed, quoting the chorus to a friend! )
8. Seal It With A Kiss
(Lovely chorus, meh verses - could and will hopefully grow on me!)
9. Trouble For Me
10. Drop Dead feat. Sabi (Beautiful)
(I don't like these, some parts here and there in the Trouble song, but these sound bad)
$1000 VIP PACKAGES SOLD OUT IN L.A. AND VEGAS!!!!
According to Britney's tour updates, the Front Row VIP Package for the Los Angeles & Las Vegas shows are sold out. It sold for $999.50 each!
I'm disappointed with how this album and the general era has fared in the UK, it could've been so much bigger and right when "HIAM" emerged I thought it had a chance at being #1. The videos were too late for both singles and the complete lack of UK promo is primarily to blame... the music is not the problem at all IMO, "Femme Fatale" is a fantastic pop album. It just feels like she's struggling to appeal to the masses now, her fans jump on every single as soon as it's released but the longevity is fading.
Look at Madonna with the "Ray Of Light" era, she was in a similar place to Britney career length-wise then but managed to have as much success as ever.
