But not her best. Britney's last real true "Britney album" was Circus.

Such a basic album, but the singles were some of her best.

This era could've been perfectly executed, but her attitude really ruined everything. So many amazing promo opportunities were just missed...

^ Yeah I miss it as well, that was her last good era, the "Femme Fatale" era didn't have the same spirit of "Circus" at all. however the "Femme Fatale" album was musically better and stronger and I was glad she was having the hits with it at least, the music videos were also cool, the era itself wasn't really bad, in fact it was a well planned / organized era, the main problem with it was Britney's attitude which made the whole era bittersweet but at the end of the day it wasn't a disaster or anything, it was ok. . . And then "Britney Jean" came which was the opposite of FF era, at least she seemed happy and her performances improved during BJ but then it lacked the music quality, hits and organized excecution of FF era.

^^^omg I forgot all about the "My pu-C is hanging out" moment. I remember someone made a song and had it on loop behind some production. Lemme go find that.

But I agree...I was so happy when she slayed those Circus first weeks like that. She was estimated to get like around 250,000 first week and got around 500,000. I was like "Brinty you better show these heauxs how to go crazy and comeback and slay".

Sigh....I miss when she was exciting.

I just remember (mainly after documentary...which was wonderful) everyone notice her performing and not being fully like how she was...that and in interviews. But I guess she was a lot into that era in comparison to the femme album and BrintyJoan.
Oh well of course I remember comments regarding she wasn't moving / dancing like in the "In the zone" days , but in general terms / overall the era was positive and we were constantly slayed, That documentary was one of the all-time career favorite moments among the Britney fan community, she was looking beautiful, we were excited that she was promoting worldwide (which was something she didn't do at all during "Blackout"), the music videos were great and fierce, the tour was huge and she was crazy and did a lot of spontaneous crazy fun comments and things in there ("My pussy is haunging out", "Merry christmas", "Rock out with your c*cks out" ) and how to forget the completely LIVE performance of Alanis cover "You Oughta know", I mean Britney singing 100% live . . . . . Overall it was a good era, I really have great memories from it. 2008 / 2009 were good years to be a Britney fan.

Really? . . . "Circus" and 2008/2009 were like heaven for Britney fans. I was even checking the "Circus" thread on its early days to see what people thought here and mostly everyone was slayed, hyped, praising it as the comeback of the year. I personally remember it as the story of the year, the first half of the era was flawless to me.

I prefer "Femme Fatale" as an album, but I think "Circus" deserved to sell more like it did because she put more effort into it and went and promoted it in US, UK, France, Germany and Japan, she made several apperances on other shows, and her attitude and shape were also good, the effort was bigger. For "Femme Fatale" she half-assed the few promo she did in USA, she didn't even bother on promoting outside US at all and her attitude wasn't right. So IMO although the music was better she didn't have the merit during FF to outsell "Circus".

The full version of this album (deluxe) features 16 tracks and still the entire album feels cohesive and solid from start to finish, its really hard to pull a long dance album without becoming messy these days. There's hardly any bad track in this.
+1 always said this its such a good body of work!

God this album is so good

I did have a bit of a hatred for it because it ruined her career but now that hatred has been replaced by BJ so I can appreciate the masterpiece

Inside Out should've been a single with a sexy vid and DDB was a missed hit too with a remix from Kesha (assuming the TTWE remix didn't happen)

I always though Gasoline was trash. Also with Seal It With A Kiss.

    Shell fish was pointless too.

"Gasoline" is my least favorite song on the entire "Femme Fatale" album to be honest. But it seems to be both a fan and public favorite. It doesn't really remember me to her old school songs musically speaking but it does have some of that old Britney attitude.

I had the same thought last night when I was listening to "Femme Fatale". - That track is so old-school Britney with a contemporary arrangement! I'd have loved the Fantasy Twists commercial to be the music video for that track as the 5th single.. I still think that it was a stupid move to abandon the FF era like that... Althoug the album was not as successful as "Circus", the singles did exceptionally well for Britney's standard in the U.S. They should have just released a 5th or even 6th single.
