Album sounds good, espec I (the Joe Mount song) and Say It Out Loud (80's electro-pop!!). Gladiator haslyrics! Fish Out Of Water (the other Mount collab) has an amazing alien sound to it. The fact that a member of a mainstream pop group has made a track like that is fantastic!

It's very British sounding isn't it? Very Lily Allen at times too, just with crazier vocals. I doubt it will, but I hope it's a success for her. Top 20 probably, but top 10 would be great (and top 40 just to piss Nadine off!).I have a bad feeling about this.

The chorus of "Gladiator".Isn't that Britney's "I Wanna Go"?!
It's a solid pop album, glad that there aren't too many ballads. Every song has a massive hook, if radio warmed up to her she wouldn't have a problem picking a hit single.
Despite that, I'm a bit disappointed by how safe her sound is. Aside from Beat of My Drum, I, Gladiator, Fish Out of Water, Take a Bite and Sticks & Stones, the rest of the album has pretty much regular arrangements. The use of 8-bit sounds work amazingly well especially on songs like Beat of My Drum, Say It Out Loud and Take a Bite, I wish more were employed.
She seemed so promising from the reviews.I'm not saying she isn't, but I do wish she took more chances musically. I really wanted her to go Siobhan Donaghy-crazy with this album. Unless she manages to score a hit and land a Top 10, I don't think it is worth playing it safe.

It was so horrible, and you just knew that it must have been ripping up Nicola inside, having to endure that when she was merely an adult and still growing. Despite the obvious hardship she would have suffered to get through those particular years, it's fantastic that we got such a beautifully written song out of it.
'Sticks + Stones' is definitely my favourite song of Nicola's yet.LONG LIVE GIRLS ALOUD

Sticks & Stones is such a beautiful and emotional song. It's really touching.
The lyrics are so personal and you can hear the emotions in her voice. I think it's quite an emotional song for the other girls aswell.without any meaning, we're just skin and bones

But Nicola hasn’t played it to the rest of the girls. ‘I was afraid to play anything to too many people. Because this is different. And not a lot of people are in to different. I didn’t want to be swayed. I didn’t want to put it on and think, “I need it to be more commercial because the girls weren’t smiling.’”without any meaning, we're just skin and bones

That interview was touching, she's such a beautiful person, both inside and out, and so genuine. I'm not holding my breath for the album to do anything big but I'm just so glad she's made an album that's so close to her heart. Wonderful, gorgeous woman.<3
