Blahhh, I got the email that the concert is postponed and it doesn't say how much further it's postponed. Disappointed, but at least mine wasn't scheduled until April. I feel for her, but I'd be completely pissed if I was supposed to go to tomorrow night's session.

Also I mean if she really wanted she definitely could just go on stage and sing the songs and that’s it. And then explain to the audience that unfortunately, due to covid, she couldn’t put the show she wanted but at least she’s there for them and ready to sing.
I mean what else does she do? She’s not going to jump from trees or such
Don’t feel sorry for her in a way because you know beforehand if it’s going to work out or not. Not some hours before.

I’m sure the staging of the show is more complex than we appreciate, but she must have known a week ago the show wasn’t ready.
I don’t know too much about the venue she’s playing in, but all she needed was a single spotlight and her band. If the rest of it isn’t ready, she should still be able to put on a show - just look at how basic her London TV special was (in its presentation).
Her apology might be heartfelt, but I don’t think it contains enough information actually.I have a bad feeling about this.

A shame
It sounds like they were hoping to get it done until the last minute: no need to stay up for 30 hours if they knew a week ago.
Anybody that has ever been involved in staging events knows that these things can be planned and planned to the finest detail but you can't build in contingency for every possible scenario. So much has to come together and so much of it by necessity happens in the last days. COVID has blown through so many best laid plans.

I think it’s really bad they’ve done this so last minute when people have spent money and time getting to Vegas - I’d be livid.
She seems genuinely gutted but this whole short residency was announced only a few months ago so if it was going to be some sort of spectacular they seemingly set themselves up to fail.

I struggle to believe that they did not know the show was not ready only one day before it was due to launch.
Fans need more options to be able to reclaim hidden fees that were spent to attend shows (e.g. hotel and travel costs)

I’m really wondering at what stage that show was for it to be cancelled last minute. They really couldn’t do a stripped-down version of whatever they were planning?
I’m sure people would’ve preferred a very basic show over traveling for nothing. I also understand that sometimes s**t happens and can pile up unexpectedly - you can’t plan for every contingency. But it just seems that they should’ve known beforehand and refused to be realistic about whether they could still pull it off or not.

If my tickets were in the first few weeks of the residency, I'd be livid. But I hadn't even booked anything yet - was thinking I might even drive to Vegas when it was time.
So instead I'm just incredibly disappointed. I feel kind of in limbo now because the postponement is indefinite, and now my enthusiasm is diminished. I'm just wondering if I should get a refund.

Honestly, I think it's BS. As much as I love Adele, for quite some time I felt like she's performing like she's been forced to. Look at the promo for this album, it almost doesn't exist, and she could easily get any promo slot she wants. If there's a person in this industry that has all the doors open to do as she pleases, it's Adele.
It's not because of COVID that she doesn't want to do the world tour, it's a hustle for her. That's how the 2016-17 tour looked like, but there was too much in stake, and it was "now or never" moment.
I don't think she's ready to commit to performances two times a week plus some minor issues that she doesn't like. The Vegas story was a rumor even before "Easy on Me" came out, so it's clear they were working on it for couple of months. It's not like they're preparing a Cirque De Soleil show.

I don’t get how Katy Perry who’s show has dancing sharks and a huge toilet can go off without a hitch but Adele who’s show (let’s be honest) would be very basic has issues…
there has to be more to the story and Covid is just an easy out these days.

Keith Urban has stepped in and he’s gonna perform there apparently, I guess it’s good that his team isn’t as susceptible to Covid!!!!!
Adele cancelling the whole thing makes no sense, why wouldn’t you just cancel the first few shows till things are ready?
This screams Diva.

The thing is with Adele, she has a history with cancelling, and a history with cancelling at the last second with no warning. I remember in 2011 she cancelled shows and some shows were on the day of the concert. I remember a show at Cardiff being cancelled a few hours before and she wrote a blog to say that the show wasn't going ahead because of her voice issues.... but like, could have cancelled sooner rather than 3-4 hours before she was due on stage. Then the cancelled Wembley shows were last minute too. And now cancelling Vegas shows the day before. Fans would be much more forgiving had they been given notice so they can get hotel refunds etc. I understand it's not always possible but these last-minute cancellations have been a pattern over the last decade and when you factor this in with things like cancelling her 2008 US tour because she wanted to see her boyfriend, it does seem disrespectful and out of order to the fans.Last edited by MusicJunk90; Wed January 26, 2022, 18:48.
