Blahhh, I got the email that the concert is postponed and it doesn't say how much further it's postponed. Disappointed, but at least mine wasn't scheduled until April. I feel for her, but I'd be completely pissed if I was supposed to go to tomorrow night's session.

They only knew yesterday that the show wouldn't be ready? Would have been nice to give some time for travel cancellations...

Totally agree, this is embarrassing and just bad.

Also I mean if she really wanted she definitely could just go on stage and sing the songs and that’s it. And then explain to the audience that unfortunately, due to covid, she couldn’t put the show she wanted but at least she’s there for them and ready to sing.

I mean what else does she do? She’s not going to jump from trees or such

Don’t feel sorry for her in a way because you know beforehand if it’s going to work out or not. Not some hours before.

I’m sure the staging of the show is more complex than we appreciate, but she must have known a week ago the show wasn’t ready.

I don’t know too much about the venue she’s playing in, but all she needed was a single spotlight and her band. If the rest of it isn’t ready, she should still be able to put on a show - just look at how basic her London TV special was (in its presentation).

Her apology might be heartfelt, but I don’t think it contains enough information actually.
I have a bad feeling about this.

            A shame

It sounds like they were hoping to get it done until the last minute: no need to stay up for 30 hours if they knew a week ago.

Anybody that has ever been involved in staging events knows that these things can be planned and planned to the finest detail but you can't build in contingency for every possible scenario. So much has to come together and so much of it by necessity happens in the last days. COVID has blown through so many best laid plans.

I think it’s really bad they’ve done this so last minute when people have spent money and time getting to Vegas - I’d be livid.

She seems genuinely gutted but this whole short residency was announced only a few months ago so if it was going to be some sort of spectacular they seemingly set themselves up to fail.

I struggle to believe that they did not know the show was not ready only one day before it was due to launch.

Fans need more options to be able to reclaim hidden fees that were spent to attend shows (e.g. hotel and travel costs)

I'm sorry but there is always something with her when it comes to her live shows.

I’m really wondering at what stage that show was for it to be cancelled last minute. They really couldn’t do a stripped-down version of whatever they were planning?
I’m sure people would’ve preferred a very basic show over traveling for nothing. I also understand that sometimes s**t happens and can pile up unexpectedly - you can’t plan for every contingency. But it just seems that they should’ve known beforehand and refused to be realistic about whether they could still pull it off or not.

If my tickets were in the first few weeks of the residency, I'd be livid. But I hadn't even booked anything yet - was thinking I might even drive to Vegas when it was time.

So instead I'm just incredibly disappointed. I feel kind of in limbo now because the postponement is indefinite, and now my enthusiasm is diminished. I'm just wondering if I should get a refund.

This is exactly what I thought. I mean we don't really know about the technical side of things, but I surely if there was an option to just sing the damn songs on the stage, people would much prefer that over the show being cancelled altogether.

Sorry, but that video of her apologising is too much - I felt it came across a bit indulgent tbh. Just stick out a statement and leave it at that.

Anyway, shocking - and unfortunate - that it was cancelled at the last minute.

Honestly, I think it's BS. As much as I love Adele, for quite some time I felt like she's performing like she's been forced to. Look at the promo for this album, it almost doesn't exist, and she could easily get any promo slot she wants. If there's a person in this industry that has all the doors open to do as she pleases, it's Adele.

It's not because of COVID that she doesn't want to do the world tour, it's a hustle for her. That's how the 2016-17 tour looked like, but there was too much in stake, and it was "now or never" moment.

I don't think she's ready to commit to performances two times a week plus some minor issues that she doesn't like. The Vegas story was a rumor even before "Easy on Me" came out, so it's clear they were working on it for couple of months. It's not like they're preparing a Cirque De Soleil show.

I don’t get how Katy Perry who’s show has dancing sharks and a huge toilet can go off without a hitch but Adele who’s show (let’s be honest) would be very basic has issues…

there has to be more to the story and Covid is just an easy out these days.

This thread is about Adele, not Katy. If you feel Katy's toilet bowl is more awesome than Adele's basicness, then discuss it in Katy's tour thread.

EDIT: If you have an issue with this comment, feel free to PM me about this.

Apparently, the show got postponed due to Adele's divaesque behavior (source).

She should've just gone on stage and sang her heart out, that would've been enough for the fans who traveled so far to see her.

First time in a long time I think the rumors about her diva behavior are true. And as much as I love her, she looks like she’d rather do anything else than perform.
We can wish it’s different, but it’s soooo visible how over she really is with live performances of any kind.

Keith Urban has stepped in and he’s gonna perform there apparently, I guess it’s good that his team isn’t as susceptible to Covid!!!!!

Adele cancelling the whole thing makes no sense, why wouldn’t you just cancel the first few shows till things are ready?

                                        This screams Diva.

                                          Vile behaviour.

She thinks all will forgive her if she posts a video with her strong, London accent. She really plays up to being a hun who loves wine, just like all ya mates. Fake.

The thing is with Adele, she has a history with cancelling, and a history with cancelling at the last second with no warning. I remember in 2011 she cancelled shows and some shows were on the day of the concert. I remember a show at Cardiff being cancelled a few hours before and she wrote a blog to say that the show wasn't going ahead because of her voice issues.... but like, could have cancelled sooner rather than 3-4 hours before she was due on stage. Then the cancelled Wembley shows were last minute too. And now cancelling Vegas shows the day before. Fans would be much more forgiving had they been given notice so they can get hotel refunds etc. I understand it's not always possible but these last-minute cancellations have been a pattern over the last decade and when you factor this in with things like cancelling her 2008 US tour because she wanted to see her boyfriend, it does seem disrespectful and out of order to the fans.

Maybe she shouldn't tour at all but limit her live appearances to occassional performances in selected talk and award shows. It seems like she doesn't like the big halls and that's fine, but she shouldn't trick her fans like that.

Well she has also done a lot of shows. Unfortunately Adele has a very fragile voice, and she does not lip a single note on stage so it is inevitable that she is going to have issues sometimes. Vegas aside, which was a mess, she only cancelled due to extreme vocal issues, and that is part and parcel.
