North Greenwich or Greenwich Peninsula, The DLR doesn’t go there.

There is a Travelodge in Woolwich Arsenal as well with a number of buses going to the O2 (journey time around 20 mins).

North Greenwich is the only tube station to serve The o2, and oneofone is correct, you cannot take a direct DLR there. You have to swap at Canary Wharf and change trains, but only for one additional stop. It’s very easy.

It’s worth noting that the Jubilee line (which is the only underground line at North Greenwich) also runs all night on Saturdays.

However it might be best to move transport and hotel questions to PM, so as not to overtake the thread.
I have a bad feeling about this.

            • Madonna Celebration Tour Sells Out New York, London, Paris in Minutes – Billboard

The Queen of Pop’s return to touring was a thunderous success this morning, with more than 23 concerts added to the 37 dates already announced for Madonna‘s The Celebration Tour thanks to massive fan demand.

Only a handful of tickets are still available — the tour is 98% sold out — after fans bought up 600,000 tickets in a matter of hours to see Madonna’s retrospective run in North America and Europe. Additional shows were added today in Los Angeles, Montreal, Boston and beyond to meet the demand.

“It was a huge day for Madonna and a massive success thanks to her fans,” says Arthur Fogel, Madonna’s long-time promoter with Live Nation.

In total, 51 shows went on sale today, with 35 of the shows completely sold out by 5 p.m. EST. Fogel and Madonna’s team added a fourth New York show after the first three sold out in 15 minutes and two additional London shows after the first two concerts at the 02 Arena sold out in 20 minutes. Tickets to see Madonna’s Paris shows sold out in under seven minutes, while her Amsterdam date sold out in 10 minutes.

Fogel says additional dates will be announced for Europe next week before presales begin for ten North American shows that were not part of today’s sale. Presales for The Celebration Tour dates in Denver, Phoenix, Atlanta and more begin Jan. 23, with the general public onsale scheduled for Jan. 27.

                • BIllboard also has an article where they talk about how much money she can make with this tour. They used mostly Rebel Heart Tour as reference plus Elton John's increase in tickets price (from 2018 to his latest tour), and they mention something in the range of 107 million to 140 million.

Just from NA and Europe, obviously.

                  • Isn't it weird she'a doing Denmark and Sweden but not Finland and Norway? Maybe she'll do more European countries in another leg.

                    • I am pretty sure this is her last big tour. Let's face it guys, she's (normally) not moving as she used to, which is understandable for her age, but if there was a GH Tour to be done, this was THE moment. She may do smaller venue tours a la Madame X to support her new material, but stadiums and arenas hardly. If she uses grillz and starts using old gimmicks, not to mention singing which needs to be top notch (as much as possible), press won't spare her. In all these recent videos, in Medellin with Maluma, on Eurovision, even parts of Madame X Tour I've started thinking about how will a big production tour look for her. The last arena tour she did at this point was RHT (I went to see it and loved it), and she was both vocally and physically very invested. What scares me is that I don't see that passion nor willingness for this project. Yes, we are talking about a big tour, I just spent over a $1000 for it, but will she deliver? After the tour she'll take a break, and probably either release her 15th album (that in all honesty unless it's COADF 2 nobody but us will care for), or start working on a film.

Another scary thing is - I hope she doesn't incorporate any of these dreadful Frozen remixes on the tour trying to be "cool". Because her perception of what's "cool" and "in" is very different from the rest of the world these days.

They had all these dates booked of course, they were just going by demand. The demand is there, I think these are one of her most expensive tickets that I've ever heard of, but they did in a way market it as her "this is it" tour and people went for it. The announcement video with grillz and Amy Schumer was dreadful.

South America is definitely happening in 2024. So even without adding anything on top of these dates, 70+ is a given.

NA cities I think she'll add some more dates on are: Toronto or Montreal, DC and quite possibly even 5th LA and 3rd Las Vegas.

It's Europe that needs like 10 more dates.

Since it's called Celebration, I assume the following songs are definitely included:

                      1. "Like A Virgin"
                      2. "Material Girl"
                      3. "Like A Prayer"
                      4. "La Isla Bonita"
                      5. "Into the Groove"
                      6. "Holiday"
                      7. "Music"
                      8. "Hung Up"
                      9. "Vogue"
                      10. "Celebration"

That's more or less half of our set list.

The ones I think she'll add:

                      1. "Ray of Light"
                      2. "Lucky Star"
                      3. "Papa Don't Preach"
                      4. "Express Yourself"
                      5. "Justify My Love"
                      6. "Human Nature"
                      7. "Take A Bow" (if she wants to add a ballad it's this or "Live to Tell")
                      8. "4 Minutes" (because she kind of has to, it's her last huge hit)

and that leaves us with 2-3 more songs...

Without interludes her tours usually have 19-21 songs:

                      1. Madame X - 20
                      2. Rebel Heart - 21
                      3. MDNA - 19
                      4. S&S - 19
                      5. Confessions - 19
                      6. Re-Invention - 20
                      7. Drowned World - 20

                        • I just hope she has enough rest in between dates so we don't have another Madame X tour disaster and starts to cancel LEFT and right. It's not so much that she is "old". She really isn't that "old". The woman had a hip surgery, that is something completely different.

She’s isn’t that old, but a high energy tour for a 64 yo woman is a challenge, that’s for sure. I wish her all the luck, and hope she takes care of herself properly.

And the schedule for this new tour on the paper is really intense: she will have to perform 4 days out of five in some case .

Ticketmaster will never reveal if a second leg it’s planned. It’s against tickets sale strategy .

                                      • So everyone on social media is saying nobody will go and next extra shows are added as the first one are sold out that quickly.

I did think it was very expensive though. But my husband knows how much I love Madonna so he bought us tickets anyway. So I'm happy to say: I'm going!
Blessed to say I've seen Mariah live 8x, Madonna live 8x, Céline Dion live 8x and many others once or a few times.

                                        • Tickets are actually not that expensive. Everything costs more now, so it’s only fair for the tickets prices to be higher than before.

Jazmine Sullivan and Snoh Aalegra both performed at Youtube Theater in LA and both were asking for $150. Compared to Madonna’s name and her big stage/production/team, the difference is not that much.

                                              • Erm did you not all see the London prices? £440 (with fees) for standard pricing is insane. By the time you buy a pair of tickets, add on a meal and drinks, you’re talking over £1000 for one night out.

Being able to afford it doesn’t mean it isn’t expensive.
I have a bad feeling about this.

Madame X was a unique situation. Madonna suffered her first ever injury and despite all the problems, did as many shows as she could even though it went against h medical advice.

In forty years, it’s the only time Madonna has had problems on the road. It’s pretty common for artists to have to cancel or postpone a show through illness or injury, and the fact is Madonna never did that once in thirty five years.

Madonna didn’t handle the situation very well though, and it became a lot messier because of the start time problems. But the woman injures herself once (which resulted in a hip replacement) and suddenly she’s ‘too old’ to perform and somehow a liability and uncertainty because of her age.

She will be fine. She has forty years of experience and at least three months of rehearsal time - she’ll know what she can and cannot do soon enough and adapt accordingly.
