^ I thought you would knew about that project by now

They already announced several festivals for summer 2018. I hope that won't be the european part of the tour. If it isn't, then i think they will tour Europe in may/june OR after summer.

November 2018 is going to be a symphonic metal month with Within Temptation AND Nightwish concerts

edit: OMFG. I'm going to see WT on the 21st and NW on the 22nd

In 1996 Tuomas Holopainen made a three-song demo that eventually lead to his first recording contract with his brand new band NIGHTWISH.

The DECADES: WORLD TOUR 2018 will start from North America in March 2018 and after the summer festivals it is time to unleash the European part.

                Enjoy and have fun!

I think I will skip that tour. Floor is not my cup of tea, sadly.

^ awww that's sad :( I think this could be a great experience, depending on the setlist and how they re-create their songs...

Thanks! Yeah, all these upcoming concerts got me kinda broke now I hope there won't be more interesting shows announced for a while now...

The tracklist is so uneventful. I mean, there's no new track on it at all? - And Floor isn't singing the older tracks. It's basically a useless release and Nightwish as well as their record company should keep it. I won't buy this shit.

I am a bit lost what this is, is this a greatest hits kind of tour and release? I just saw the tracklist for the release and it has 2 discs? With one having 9 and one 13 tracks?

Yes, this is a very useless "Greatest Hits" release with "remastered" versions. Fans think they will just adjust the volume of older tracks to make it fit to the new ones (basically what they did on "End Of An Era". - Nightwish will also go on a Best Of tour.

I seriously don't get it why they go on a Best Of tour with a new lead singler. Before their latest album, it was basically a "Best Of" tour because Floor had no new songs to sing. It's a pity they are not giving her new songs to perform which fit to her voice.

I'll probably buy "Nightwish" on iTunes because it's Tarja on it and I think it hasn't been "professionally" released before (even though it's still a fu*king demo!).

Weird release to do at this point, thanks for the explanation though. They should have prepared some new music for Floor indeed

This is getting really ridiculous. They are promoting this already since AGES yet it still takes two months until the release, and now they've revealed that it's basically just another pointless best of compilation? I really thought it's Floor who re-recorded the old songs, and that there may be a new arrangement ŕ la Evanescence' "Synthesis".

Of course, i'll still love this as there are some gems on it, as always. Especially pleased about my unpopular fave "Elvenpath". Also, CD1 is simply brilliant (except the WAY too overrated "The Greatest Show On Earth" - one of my least fave tracks by NW EVER!). But i don't really get the point of this?

Yeah, it's pretty useless and pointless. Tbh, the tracklist doesn't look bad (since it's indeed a great collection of songs) but no one needs this release.
I haven't bought the other pointless ballads-best of either since there was no new song to be found on that release either.

So "Decades" has been out since Friday and i'm really enjoying it! Can't believe how amazing "Nemo" and "Wish I Had An Angel" still sound after 14 years <3

They also kicked of the tour in the US and this is the current setlist:

                                    "End of All Hope"
                                    "Wish I Had an Angel"
                                    "10th Man Down"
                                    "Come Cover Me"
                                    "Gethsemane"
                                    "Élan"
                                    "Sacrament of Wilderness"
                                    "Dead Boy's Poem"
                                    "Elvenjig" (live premiere)
                                    "Elvenpath"
                                    "I Want My Tears Back"
                                    "The Carpenter"
                                    "The Kinslayer"
"Devil & the Deep Dark Ocean"
                                    "Nemo"
                                    "Slaying the Dreamer"
"The Greatest Show on Earth (Chapters I, II and III)"
                                    "Ghost Love Score"

So... NO song of "Dark Passion Play", their most beloved & successful album

"Elvenjig" seems to be an instrumental song and a traditional. Not sure if it's for a new album or just for the tour / intro as "Elvenpath".
Oh, speaking of "Elvenpath", i'm GLAD it's on there as it's been one of my faves by NW since forever <3

DPP tour was their longest and most tiring. Maybe they want some rest from DPP. After all it's one of their worst albums to date (not because of vocals).
I love all the AFF, OB, WM songs on the setlist. Hope they will more in the future maybe in the Europe.

I held the that compilation record in my hands the other day but I didn't end up buying it. I will not pay 18 Euros to get one single track I don't own at the moment "Nemo (Demo)". That release is so freaking pointless. I'm still pissed at how stupid their marketing team is. I mean, even Britney's "The Singles Collection" had more to offer. At least, there was a new single on the record.

Anyway, that setlist looks fine to me but indeed, it was a stupid move to not include a single track from "Dark Passion Play". Personally, I think it's their best album after "Once".

^ makes sense. I also didn't get the physical copy so far, but i'll surely pick it up later this year or so, just for my collection. I also never picked up "Vehicle Of Spirits", so...

Anyways, i'm kinda over the fact that there's nothing new on this plus it's all with the old singer. I forgot how awesome some songs actually are, no matter if sung by Tarja, Anette or Floor, so some of the magic would have get lost if Floor re-recorded them. Tuomas said in an interview that the songs are perfect the way they are, and they are the way they should be. Every singer did an amazing Job for their songs and it wouldn't be fair to re-record some of them - and i completely understand that now.

'one of their worst albums to date'? I guess that's your personal opinion? As i'm always reading different reviews and it often seems to rank high on NW lists Plus "Amaranth" is their second biggest (or even biggest?) hit ever and so acclaimed by everyone, so at least that one should have been on the setlist.

But yeah, apart from that, i'm pretty happy with the setlist too. Some awesome, older tunes which i didn't hear live so far soooo i can't wait for November! <3
