          There's 92,782 tickets in North America still to sell, mostly the higher priced tickets - and a significant number of which are across a half-dozen dates. Unsurprisingly, Canada is doing awesome.

                A lot of lipping 4 songs (+ the big note in ABM) out of 23? That's more than 80% of the show live. I've seen many divas in concert lately and the rate is usually 60% lipping and I'm being generous.

                Agree with Lying Down, a hard song, even the studio version sounds strained to me.

                  she does 19 songs, the medley counts as one. Yeah im not really a fan of lying down. Didnt like that other song that Sia wrote for her for the last album either.

                    Still much much better and more songs live than many of her peers who sing and not just move around the stage with the backing track on.
                    And yes, Lying Down doesn't sound so good live. Same thing happened with 'Shadow of Love' and 'Fade Away' during the Taking Chances Tour as the oomph those studio versions had, didn't translate well in the live setting.

                    • Why would a 12 minutes medley count as one song when nowadays most of songs last not much more than 3? Counting length of songs her live rate would still be above 80% and quite above average in any pop concert.

                          It's a great change from "Pour que tu m'aimes encore" (in the sense she has been performing this song so many times in her English concerts). Loved her performance in 2016 and 2017. And this Cleveland video is very good.

                          She is made to sing blues (instead of jazz). Her voice would suit greatly a blues album

                            Her runs are crisp and clear, her belts are powerful and resonant - she really is a marvel. She's recovering from a throat issue FFS. Amazing.

                              Celine Dion Comes Alive With Stunning First Stop in U.S. of 'Courage' World Tour: Here Are the 6 Best Moments

                              Celine Dion has certainly earned a break. The iconic singer recently ended her 16-year run in Las Vegas, but now she's back on the road and showing no signs of slowing down. For our sake, let's hope she doesn't.

                              In support of her upcoming album, Courage, Dion began a tour of the same name in Quebec this past September. On Friday (Oct. 18), she made her first stop in the United States, bringing her set to the newly christened Rocket Mortgage Field House in Cleveland, Ohio.

                              "We started this world tour a few weeks ago up in Canada, but this is a very special night, because Cleveland is our very first show in the USA. And that is because we hear that you guys know how to let it all hang out," Dion told the audience.

                              Despite recently having to reschedule several Canadian shows after doctors put her on vocal rest, the "My Heart Will Go On" singer stunned the crowd with her exquisite prowess. After two hours of power ballads sprinkled with her whimsical attitude, Dion had fans begging her to stay.

                              She commands the stage while making easy, friendly conversation with her band (which included horns, a saxophone, several guitarists and bass players, a drummer, strings, and backup singers) -- allowing her quirky personality we've come to know and love through the years to shine.

                              Here are the six best moments from the Courage World Tour in Cleveland.

                              Song choices: With of 30-years-worth of discography to choose from, Dion did an impressive job seamlessly mixing older hits ("Beauty and the Beast") with her new singles ("Courage" and "Lying Down"), leaving no fan of her work disappointed. And her one-two encore punch of "My Heart Will Go On" and John Lennon's "Imagine" struck an extraordinary chord.

                              Sartorial statements: She wore five different outfits in all. The first was pure sultry chanteuse -- a red, sequined dress with a short slit up her thigh. Then, she donned a tuxedo-like fit accompanied with huge puffy sleeves she would later discard because "it's a little hot in here." (But "don't worry, doctors' orders. I will keep my pants on," she promised.) Next up -- a nude and black-laced gown with another, even higher slit up the thigh. For her medley of covers that began with David Bowie's "Just Dance," she wore a Ziggy Stardust-esque sparkly suit, complete with other-worldly shoulders. (She'd add a red arm reminiscent of Freddie Mercury for "Another One Bites the Dust.") And finally, for her encore -- an iceberg of a dress with layers upon layers of tulle for "My Heart Will Go On" and "Imagine."

                              The banter: At the beginning of the show, Dion lamented how long it had been since she performed in Cleveland, setting a playful tone that would pervade throughout the night. "It's been more than 10 years since we were here the last time. What is that? I can't even count to ten. Ain't doing that no more," she joked. "Maybe it's because they locked me up in Vegas a little bit. But I escaped. And I came to Cleveland and it feels fantastic."

                              Audience participation: When introducing the John Farnham song "You're the Voice," Dion really wanted everyone in attendance to help out -- so she and her backup vocalists taught the audience a special part of the tune, encouraging people to sing with her. Then, during "Because You Loved Me," she told the audience join her once again "because you know the words." Of course, everyone was already singing with her the whole time.

                              Her vocals: You'd never know the 51-year-old singer was recently put on vocal rest, forcing her to reschedule parts of her tour. Her voice was spot-on fantastic the entire show.

                              The drones: Yep. There were drones emulating stars, water, and even the "heart of the ocean" diamond for "My Heart Will Go On."

                              Overall, Dion reminded everyone why she's one of the world's biggest stars with a forceful, engaging showstopping concert.

                              Celine Dion Returns to Cleveland After 10 Years and Slays

                              After Celine Dion hits one of those ungodly notes in her repertoire, she often does something a little unexpected — she celebrates.

                              Just like a football player who scores a touchdown in the most spectacular of fashions and then poses and screams with his teammates, Dion belts out the most eye-watering of decibels on stage and then pumps her fist, as if to say, "Hell yes, I just did that."

                              But what makes this diva even more of a unicorn is that these movements come off as endearing, rather than too self-admiring. And at last night's sold-out Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse show, the first American stop on her recent Courage World Tour, Dion was in the most celebratory of moods, gladly sharing her talents with the people of Northeast Ohio.

                              Entering center stage from a trap door in a bright red Jessica Rabbit-esque dress, Dion quickly rolled into the power ballad "It's All Coming Back to Me Now." Her voice was every bit as strong as when the cover came out in the mid-'90s. She unfortunately did not perform the entire 7-minute album version, instead, and understandably, choosing to move on with the show.

                              A large video screen box then lifted up into the air to reveal an entire band, complete with a horn section, a string quartet, two drum kits and three backup singers. She got right into one of her more recent hits, 2007's "That's the Way It Is," electrifying the crowd.

                              "You're looking so good tonight," Dion said after finishing the song. "It's been more than 10 years since I've been to Cleveland. What is that? I can't even count to 10. Way too long. Maybe they locked me up in Vegas. But I escaped, and I came to Cleveland, and it feels fantastic."

                              And truly, she looked fantastic and healthy with a brand new shoulder-length blunt bob haircut. Throughout the show, Dion had five costume changes, all achieved in mere minutes. In the downtime, her band excelled at keeping everyone entertained while various videos showed Dion putting on makeup, dancing and moving through water.

                              Rest assured Dion came armed with all of her hits. Her "The Power of Love" rendition was transcendent of time and space with her "All By Myself" not too far behind. She beautifully sang the "Beauty and the Beast" duet with one of her backup singers, while choosing to do "The Prayer" as a solo rather than a duet (originally performed with Andrea Bocelli, who as Dion pointed out, was not there).

                              But it was on the mostly French-language song "Tous Les Blues Sont écrits Pour Toi" that Dion went nuts. Not only did she show off her flexibility, hitting a standing back bend, but she also sang a note so high in the stratosphere it's still unclear if she didn't just make it up.

                              As she does have a fresh album out now, Dion, of course, was required to sing a couple of the new ones, too. And none of them were bad. The album's title track, "Courage," was especially moving.

                              What was so glorious about last night's performance was that you could tell she was singing live because it wasn't always 100 percent perfect. Not to say Dion ever missed a note because that's probably not possible, but every now and then she'd toy with the timing of a phrase or noodle around a little too much.

                              The final song of the night (before the encore, obviously) was a mash-up medley that included Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" and Prince's "Kiss," among others. And while these tunes offered her an opportunity to get the crowd pumped up — she doesn't have a whole bunch of upbeat songs in her repertoire after all — that part of the show felt like a leftover from her Caesars Palace residency in Vegas. She could have easily dug into her own catalog of songs here.

                              After she left the stage for one last costume change, we all knew there was one song she hadn't performed yet — her biggest worldwide hit "My Heart Will Go On." Arriving back in the fluffiest fairy godmother dress of all time, Dion obliged her fans by singing the Titanic heart-stopper with every ounce of passion she could give. The song was made even more magical with a beautiful drone light display flying around her head.

                              With the final "my heart will go onnnnnnnnnnnn and oooonnnn," she lifted her hand to the sky in celebration. And if you had the power to make women and men weep in their chairs from just the sound of your voice and your presence, you would probably celebrate too. It's a power that Dion has chosen to use for good.

                              Finishing out the night, she sang a song "you all know well," John Lennon's "Imagine." It was delicate and sweet.

                              We all could have listened to her sing for a couple more hours.

                              • Concert Review: Celine Dion: Singer stuns with unrivaled vocal performance

                                In 2017, Disney released a live-action adaptation of "Beauty and the Beast," the 1991 animated classic. Since then, multiple remakes have been released or announced, garnering lukewarm reviews. Banking on nostalgia may pay off financially, but often the original magic is lost.

                                Celine Dion does not have that problem. As she sang "Beauty and the Beast" at the Schottenstein Center on Sunday, she showed no sign of vocal wear or emotional staleness that may have set in nearly 30 years after she made it a hit. The Canadian singer may represent a bygone era of chart-ruling ballad queens and "Titanic"-mania, but she has the ability to make the songs we've heard a million times sound fresh and exciting. That is no small feat after more than 1,000 performances at her Vegas residencies, not to mention multiple world tours.

                                "Courage," the name of the tour, was shown on the video screens before Dion took the stage, showing off a resplendent, ruby red dress and sleek blonde bin. She opened with the powerful "It's All Coming Back To Me Now" — a courageous choice.

                                But then again, almost all of Dion's songs require daring vocal acrobatics.

                                Her extensive band, including a string section, appeared during "That's The Way It Is," which, though infectious, still sounds too much like a Backstreet Boys song (thank pop songwriter Max Martin).

                                In addition to her iconic voice, Dion is also known for her eccentric personality. At the Columbus show, she fully embraced her quirks in extended monologues. During the first, she lamented about being away from the city for over a decade.

                                "I can't even count that far," she said. "Maybe it's because they locked me up in Vegas and I escaped. Get me out, get me out!"

                                Her humor and showmanship kept her ballad-heavy set entertaining. She punctuated her songs with fist pumps and poses. She cracked jokes in between songs and changed into several costumes—one of which included tear-away, puffy sleeves. And she directed the audience in a singalong to "You're the Voice" by Australian singer John Farnham.

                                Dion puts such a signature spin on material, it's easy to forget that some of her biggest hits are covers (e.g. "The Power of Love," "If You Asked Me To"). And, during one segment of the show, she performed hits by acts like Queen, Prince and Tina Turner, just for the fun of it. She also sang John Lennon's "Imagine" as a plea for peace and harmony.

                                Still, she made time to sing a couple new songs from her new album, "Courage," due out next month.

                                Despite selling hundreds of millions of albums, Dion's music has been criticized for being everything from melodramatic to emotionless.

                                But live, Dion was fully connected to her songs, delivering moving performances. "The Prayer," originally recorded as a duet with Andrea Bocelli, was especially touching. And "My Heart Will Go On" was performed intimately and earnestly, as if it were her first time.

                                Dion may not be remembered as a legendary songwriter, or someone who constantly pushed artistic limits, but she doesn't have to be. Her flawless voice and interpretation of songs have cemented her in history. And, among the artists from the great diva era of the '90s still performing, she is, arguably, unrivaled. Her instrument is in impeccable shape.

                                As we continue to take nostalgia-fueled trips back in time, her dedication to her craft should serve as a point of influence for the next generation.

                                • Superstar Celine Dion absolutely slays in first-ever Louisville performance

                                  Thank you.

                                  I can't count the number of times Celine Dion said that to a packed and energetic crowd at the KFC Yum Center on Tuesday night, but each time, it was heartfelt, earnest and real.

                                  Thanking her legions of fans, who packed into the downtown Louisville arena for Dion's first ever-performance in the city in her 30-year career, was a constant theme of the jaw-dropping show, one of her first U.S. stops in her "Courage World Tour."

                                  For about two hours, in between thanks, Dion slayed each and every song she sang from her three-decades-long catalog that ranged from some of her earliest hits to two new songs off her upcoming "Courage" album being released nationwide Nov. 15.

                                  Dion is an anomaly in the modern music industry, where auto-tune is often a substitute or disguise for performers who may vocally fall flat on a track. But Dion is in a league of her own. Her vocals were spot on all night and after she continued to hit note after incredible note over and over again, you were left wondering at some points "is she even real?"

                                  But she is. And that's what's so incredible about this 51-year-old woman who was first discovered at age 12. She's truly that gifted. Her entire show was a masterclass in stage presence and vocal performance.

                                  Not to mention how genuinely thankful she seems when people applaud and how much she clearly loves interacting with the audience and performing. Oh, and she looks incredible on stage, too. It was hard not to be mesmerized by her five incredible outfits — six, really, if you count a quick on-stage costume change — each one more dramatic and breathtaking than the last.

                                  It's hard to say when Celine was at her best — truly everything was that good — but it was her incredibly powerful — read sexy — performance of the bluesy "Tous les blues sont écrits pour toi," sung mostly in French, where Dion further proved her mastery, stirring the crowd into a frenzy that had one friend declaring they were most certainly "with child" after that performance.

                                  Big Dion energy.



                                  But perhaps the most incredible moment came very early in the evening when Dion took the time to talk about how she had never performed in Louisville before, even though it was home to a very special friend whom she had the pleasure of getting to know alongside her late husband, Rene.

                                  In that moment, three larger-than-life images of Dion and her husband with Louisville's own Muhammad Ali were shown on the screen. As Dion turned and looked back at her friend on the screen, the crowd erupted into cheers and chants of "Ali, Ali, Ali!"

                                  "The Champ. Your champ," she said to thunderous applause.

                                              Friday night at Minneapolis’ Target Center, Celine Dion sang her 1993 hit “The Power of Love.”

                                              Or, more accurately, she SANG it. Like it was the last song she was ever going to sing in her life. Like she had just won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony in the same night. Like the planet was about to plummet into the sun, making it the final song every last human on Earth would ever hear.

                                              It was the fifth song of her set.

                                              That’s how the 51-year-old Canadian powerhouse vocalist rolls. She does not seek to merely entertain, she wants to astound. Dion never phones it in, never punts and never avoids a difficult note. If anything, she makes her songs even harder to sing, like her cover of Eric Carmen’s “All by Myself,” which she belted at such a volume, I can’t help but think the better part of downtown Minneapolis heard her.

                                              Yes, Dion isn’t afraid to indulge in schmaltz. And her insistence on consistent bombast can be grating.

                                              But still.

                                              The thing about Celine Dion is that she makes it all look so easy. Did she even break a sweat Friday night, in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 14,000? No. No, she did not. (It helps that her stage was designed largely without steps. The stage moved to accommodate her, not the other way around.)

                                              The show marked Dion’s first Twin Cities performance in 11 years, but it’s not like she hasn’t been working. She’s spent the past decade performing an extended Las Vegas residency while working in overseas legs when possible. Early on Friday, she lamented the time away: “They locked me up in the Nevada desert. Well, you know what? I found my wings and I escaped.”

                                              Some 17 musicians — including string and horn sections — backed Dion. But if, say, the piano wasn’t used on a number, the pianist and his instrument descended into the stage, only to emerge when needed again.

                                              Dion indulged in five costume changes, the majority of which proudly displayed her impressively muscular arms. At one point, she sauntered on stage in a modified tuxedo with massively puffy sleeves she tore away and announced: “That’s all that’s coming off.” Later, she mentioned “my most difficult moments,” a reference to the 2016 deaths — two days apart — of her husband, Rene Angelil, and her brother Daniel before doing the title track of her upcoming new album “Courage.”

                                              Beyond that, though, the concert was about power and confidence and Dion’s otherworldly talent. When she did “The Prayer,” her duet with Andrea Bocelli, she went ahead and sang (and nailed) his part as well.

                                              Dion wrapped her main set with a spirited medley of covers, including David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance,” Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust” and Prince’s “Kiss.” None of those three really ever quite landed, but she recovered with fiery takes on Tina Turner’s “River Deep, Mountain High” and LaBelle’s “Lady Marmalade.”

                                              When she returned for the encore, Dion began an almost demure version of her signature number, “My Heart Will Go On.” And it seemed like her cloud-like white ruffled dress was the biggest special effect of the song. That is, of course, until more than 100 drones surrounded her, changing colors and seeming to dance around her in a midair, fully choreographed routine. When she wrapped the evening with “Imagine,” one couldn’t help but wonder if she had the ghost of John Lennon in the wings waiting to join her.

                                              A lot has happened in the 11 years since Celine Dion last performed in the Twin Cities, a lull that ended with her sold-out concert Friday night at Target Center.

                                              In her personal life, the French Canadian superstar became a mom to twin boys in 2010 but then lost her husband and manager, René Angélil, to cancer in 2016. In her professional life, she faded from the charts and Top 40 radio — after landing such 1990s megahits as “Because You Loved Me” and the “Titanic” theme “My Heart Will Go On” — but she gained new ground as one of the biggest attractions in Las Vegas with a residency at Caesars Palace.

                                              Amid all those ups and downs, the world around her has also been topsy-turvy, so a little melodramatic balladry and light pop fluff with a lot of riveting vocal power and classic diva showmanship seemed like a welcome distraction.

                                              Dion, 51, offered all that along with a hi-fi, new stage production as she brought her Courage World Tour to Minneapolis, only the 10th stop on a 122-show trek that continues for another year.

                                              The 14,000 or so fans were unusually pumped and giddy. Their excitement was evident even during the preshow DJ dance party, in which Bee Gees and Earth, Wind & Fire classics sparked hordes of sequined shirts, silk scarves and tight pants spinning to the music. Some of the women in the crowd were also as fancily dressed.

                                              When Celine walked out in a solitary spotlight before the opening song “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” she drove fans wild with a simple fist pump, like something out of the last WWE Raw wrestling event at the arena.

                                              “It’s been more than 10 years since we were last here,” the star said one song later. “I mean come on, that’s way too long. We’re gonna fix it.”

                                              All kinds of random comparisons came up in the two-hour performance that ensued.

                                              Dion talked enough between songs and delivered enough costume changes (five) to keep up with Cher. She started out in a sparkly red, high-slit dress, ended in a giant, white Met Gala-worthy ballgown, and in between wore a tuxedo shirt with sleeves big and billowy enough to pass for white sleeping bags.

                                              “That’s all that’s coming off,” she quipped after tearing those sleeves off following “The Prayer,” which she convincingly delivered without duet partner Andrea Bocelli. “That’s called a quick change.”

                                              Her wardrobe breaks were filled in with video montages that looked like shelved Chanel or Obsession perfume TV ads. Her corny, cackled one-liners suggested she could head to the Catskills after her Vegas residency wraps. And her mash-up of “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Lady Marmalade,” Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” and Prince’s “Kiss” before the encore felt a whole lot like a clunky amusement-park variety show. Funky, she is not.

                                              On the music front, Dion’s elaborate/grandiose string arrangements, hardworking backup singers and (for better or worse) utter lack of looseness and spontaneity often recalled a Neil Diamond performance.

                                              “To Love You More,” for instance, was overflowing with lush violin and harmonious voices in a manner that matched the puffiness of those detachable shirtsleeves. You can thus imagine how mushy her version of Eric Carmen’s “All by Myself” also was.

                                              More effectively, Dion’s new single, “Courage” proved to be an against-all-odds, arms-wide-open power ballad that stood out as one of the mid-show highlights. And her version of John Lennon’s “Imagine,” which ended the concert after “My Heart Goes On,” was fully moving and of-the-moment.

                                              Thanks probably to the regularity of her Las Vegas residency — and maybe to the fact that she started her career so young (13), and is thus still more agile than many of her veteran peers — Dion sang with all the gusto and precision that fans expected. She nailed the most megasized notes in “The Power of Love” and “Because You Loved Me” and delivered impressive new vocal aerobics in another new song, “Lying Down.”

                                              With a voice like that, Dion really didn’t need all that much courage to finally go back on tour.
