  • Thoughts and love with Colin/col89 - RIP

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to let you know that Colin was killed this week near his home in Ireland. He was 27 years old.

Despite not having posted here since 2015, many of you will remember Colin as a prominent member of the forum, and I am sure many of you will share my sadness.

Life was not always easy for Colin, but he was outwardly kind and incredibly endearing. I had the pleasure of meeting, drinking and dancing with him in London and I can confirm that offline - as he was on - he was the same charming character.

He helped make others' lives better by teaching abroad, he was an obsessive of Countdown (and was delighted when he managed to appear on the show) and like many of us, he adored pop music. I'll be playing some Girls Aloud this evening in his honour

Colin, whether your real life friends or online acquaintance, we will all miss you and hope you can now rest in peace.

Horrible news. We never interacted much due to our different tastes, but I remember that Girls Aloud orange dresses avatar instantly! And I always thought he was incredibly handsome too. R.I.P.

        May I ask what happened?

          No f#cking way.

I was just talking to him on twitter the other day.

He was funny, cute and seemed like a stand-up guy - such a sad loss. RIP Col - you will definitely be missed.

He was one of my favourites here from day 1.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Meath are investigating after a man, thought to be in his 20s and named locally as Colin Tuite, was found lying on the side of the Rathmolyon to Summerhill Road at approximately 8.50pm on Thursday.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, Superintendent Brian Daly of Summerhill Garda Station said a black saloon car had been seen driving "erratically" around the town between 8.30pm to 9pm.

"The young man was walking from his house on the New Road towards the Summerhill direction," he said. "The car, which was driving very erratically, passed the town and turned left [on to the New Road] and struck him about 300 yards away.
"We understand there are a number of people who witnessed this incident and we are currently trying to locate them."

Mr Tuite was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. His body was later removed to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan. A pair of shoes and a rucksack were found by the side of the road the next day.

I know it sounds awful but I was worried he'd taken his own life as he was clearly struggling with personal things. Hope they catch the bastard that knocked him down.

I was pleased to hear that he didn't take his own life too, I know he had a lot going on. Still really horrible news. We were only tweeting each other a few weeks ago.

I'll remember him fondly, especially as the biggest Girls Aloud fan on the site (even bigger than me) back when UKMix was at its best. No one else could insult the Sugababes quite like him, nor rile up jason2379.

RIP Col, I hope you're in a better place with beautiful robots, not dancing alone.

                                      Wow that's awful :( R.I.P.

Drink driving is such a huge thing here, the government are trying to tackle it but they're not doing enough. And it seems the police don't care unless it happens right in front of them.
People come into my restaurant every night of the week absolutely plastered, leave and get into their car accross the road and drive home. It's a joke. No one seems to take any notice until sometihing tragic like this happens. :(

May he rest in peace. My thoughts are with his loved ones and all the mixers who had a relationship with him.
