Not Talking about 5 Million >>>> 1 Million

Im Talking about real And true FLOPS... What are the biggest flops in the history of music? When were expectations huge but the demand was... Lukewarm? And the album was over shipped and stuff?

There must have been worse examples
For example an album that was actually promoted and the label lost a lot of money

Germanotta's 2nd album?
Born This Way was quite successful wasn't it? Or do you mean art pop?
2 million is still no FLOP by any means
And I doubt that the reports stating the label lost 20 million were actually true

I don't know if Psy has released something after Gangman Style but if the answer is correct, it could fit here.

Nelly's Spirit Indestructable and Robin Thicke's Paula are two of the worst. Paula sold something like 57 copies in Australia if memory serves correctly

Isn't this a troll thread? :(

Actually, this could be an interesting thread if people don't troll and have actual discussions to justify their answers, so I'll leave it open for now. But will monitor it closely

This would fit in my category of 'one hit Wonder' seriously did you expect a Korean song of the same formula in an unspeakable language to do well internationally? Gangnam was a phenomenon. The label and pay should've been well aware of that!

Mel B's 'L.A. State of Mind' charted at like #451 after selling 600 copies. It was an independent release though

ACTUALLY INWAS REALLY ASKING?
Was there no example of someone selling like 20 million albums in the 80s because he had like 2 big hits but the follow up, despite having shipped many many copies, just wouldn't sell?

'Glitter' lost Virgin like $40 million. Promoting the flop and then buying Maz out of her contract. That's gotta be one of the most expensive flops ever.

From wiki

The album debuted at number 9 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 24,000 copies in its first week of release. The album sold only 530 copies in the United Kingdom, 550 in Canada, and 158 in Australia in its debut week.

Well, he could fill an arena
